Sorry I don't post on here much but I do have a super light sleeper so I thought I would comiserate. I put on a sound machine and go to the other side of the house. I let her big brother either watch TV or play his leap pad at that time (the only time during the day)
For the most part he sleeps well but the dogs barking will wake him up. I just have to try to intercept guests before they knock on the door as much as possible.
Since our DD was little we have used one of these. We also sleep with one since we are third shifters and need to sleep during the day. I am a mental health therapist and we use these in our offices so parents, people walking by, spouses,e etc... can't listen in on our sessions. They sound like a loud fan and block almost everything. She can sleep through the vacuum, dog barking, me coming in her room to put toys away, lawn being mowed right outside. I love it!!!! (she sleeps 11-12 hours everynight, plus 2, 1 hour naps (normally).
