What happened? ? re: Dr. Brown's/Born Free

I have been washing our Dr. Brown's and Born Free bottles and parts in top rack of dishwasher. The directions said you could do this. I put the parts in a dishwasher safe mesh holder. The bottles are fine, but the parts and nipples turned yellow! I am afraid to use them now, so I threw them out. Did I do something wrong? Should I just be washing the parts and nipples by hand? Did this happen to anyone else? How do you wash your bottle parts and nipples?

Thanks!

Re: What happened? ? re: Dr. Brown's/Born Free

  • I've washed all my Dr.Brown nipples in the dishwasher top rack.  Contact the manufacturer.  They just might discolor with use.
  • Loading the player...
  • Mine get slightly darker with use, but I hand wash all the parts for our Dr.Brown BPA free bottles, just so many parts and I have to wash way more often than I use the dishwasher, so I have never placed them in there.
  • Did you put any pans in the dishwasher with them with tomato sauce on them or something?

All of our DB bottles have a faint tinge of orange for that reason. :)

  • I hand wash mine because I go thru so many, it would be pointless to run the dishwasher all day. But I do use the Dr Brown's microwave sanitizer and some of the pieces are slightly discolored and the sanitizer tray is slightly yellow.
