TTC: I think we're still on schedule to TTC next cycle. K is showing signs of wanting to wait longer. We'll talk more about it next week. Shrug.
Fostering: Our last homestudy is today! In an hour! I'll come back with an update.
AOTD: I think schedules are extremely important. I'll be relying on one as much as humanly possible... while trying to remain flexible
ETA: Our home-finder told us we should be licensed next week. OMFG. She told us it's her week on and she'll call us with the first little one she gets. Next week. I'm excited that we're finally so close, but actually very calm.
ATP: Poor E has ear infection #4 ...or #3 that did not go away. Antibiotics round 4 - poor baby. We know that tubes might be in his future.
AOTD: Most nights his bedtime is right around 7. We get home with him around 5 or 5:15. We try to cram in solid foods, play time, maybe a bath, then jammies and a bottle by 6:45 (or earlier). We have started putting him in his crib a bit awake. So far that is mostly going well. We have had a couple of weird nights the last two nights - at friends' houses in the evening. And both nights he slept some at the friends' houses...so that is great!
PCP/TTC/ATP - Well we got our first bfp last night and another one this morning. We have an appointment on Friday am with the RE so I am cautiously excited until then and probably until LO arrives if this is a sticky baby. Right now we are just fingers crossed that it is sticky.
QOTD - We are big on routines as it stands. We plan on having a bed time around 8pm due to the fact that M doesn't get home from work until about 6:30 - 7 and she wants time with LO. It's just a plan but we will definitely be getting LO on a schedule as early as possible.

ATP: Someone please tell me that the temper tantrums Ky regularly throws will get better with age...please?
QOTD: Ky used to be in bed by 8:30 and out by 9 but lately it has moved back to 9:30. I liked it better earlier but she still gets up at the same time even with the later bedtime. The only noticable difference is she wants a nap earlier in the day. The later bedtime kind of works out for those nights DW works late since she gets to spend more time with her then.
ATP: Someone please tell me that the temper tantrums Ky regularly throws will get better with age...please?
yes, they will. as I said in my TTT yesterday, 18 - 24 months is my least favorite age ever. Daisy is a nut case right now. 2 is so much better. I mean, dont get me wrong, there are still fits and battles of will, but you can actually reason with them and that makes allllll the difference!
It doesn't look like the sibling set of four we were told about is actually going to come into care after all. But we did accept a group of three for respite this weekend! We're so excited to get started!

I am loving this age (6y) so much fun to have conversations, reason with them, etc. And they still love to cuddle their moms! So far camp has been a hit. I was nervous because they have been saying they didn't want to go, but so far so good. We'll see what they think in 2m. :P
QOTD: We've always been huge schedulers with the kids' bedtime. During the school year, they are in bed by 8 which is a huge struggle since we don't get home till 6-6:15 and have to fit in homework, dinner, and bath. Now that summer is here and they could (if they ever would) sleep in till 7 (vs 6:15 when they have to be up for school) they are getting into bed closer to 8:30 (also they have a hard time going to sleep while the sun in still up.)
Our evenings look like this:
6:15 - get home and start a fast dinner. Kids do homework/play while dinner is being made.
6:45 - eat dinner.
7:15 - If we are both home, one shepherds the bathing/pj process while the other cleans the kitchen/packs the kids lunches. If we are going solo, the kids help/play while these things are done
If there is time between baths/bedtime, the kids read in their room, read to us, or work on their sticker books. We used to let them watch 30m of tv before bed, but we've phased that out.
L reads to them for 15-20 every night before bed while I finish any last minute kid things (packing bags, signing homework, etc.)
TTC: C is going a little bit crazy. We planned to miss June because our donor is traveling, and we are probably going to miss July because we'll be at a wedding. She called this morning telling me the CBEFM (thanks jrtmom!) was reading "high", and maybe she should jump in the car to go inseminate once before our donor leaves for Prague. I reminded her he's in a far away city right now, and she sounded so disappointed. We knew that this was a potential drawback of a KD, but I think TTC is really getting to her. I told her to prepare for the idea that we might miss July as well - I probably should have waited until later for that one.
QOTD: C and I have already talked about some scheduling, namely that we are going to have to split daycare dropoff/pickup so we each can get a full day in at work. That will leave me home to do the evening routine, and I don't have a sense of what that will be like for an infant. With older kids I've nannied, we started around 5:30 and did "dinner, bath, book, bed", with them in bed by 7. I liked that, but C's work hours will have to change or she won't see the kiddo in the evenings.
Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm. I am 35 and carrying. Endometriosis and DOR. AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish
Update: Not much new to share. Sprout is finishing up his school year - we've got a week left but most days have fun activities to fill them up and not much classroom time. RB is getting so tall - and grown up. Even our SW commented last night that if he didnt know better, he'd definitely guess she was 3+. I'm really enjoying her - convos with her are so fun. Daisy's emotions are all over the place, but she's still sttn so I DONT CARE! And she's talking/mimicing more which is fun.
QOTD: For people who are really not big schedulers (we always did the baby-led thing), we are fairly routine about bed times. Daisy typically goes down between 6:30-7 and RB and Sprout go down between 7-7:30. Early bed time is very important to us and is doable since A works a reduced schedule and is out by 2:30/3pm every day. I'm so glad she is able to do that, its wonderful.
I got an email yesterday with children waiting for adoption, I inquired about 4 baby boys, we'll see what happens, usually nothing comes of it.
Summer break is going well so far, the girls are enjoying each others company.
A is changing, getting to that age where her attitude rules (and gets her in trouble) but she is still so sweet and loving and inquisitive.
Iz has her ups and downs, she has days that are great and days where she annoys the heck out of me, my persistence with her seems to be working but it's been slow progress.
Owl is progressing A LOT in some areas, she plays with A and Iz sometimes, chasing/being chased and scaring/getting scared, laughing like crazy and having so much fun but that only happens on good days which we are having more of lately. Eating is still tough, she is down another lb, and I never know how she is going to react to the food we are having, usually she doesn't want it.
Apple is crawling now! And saying Dada all the time. She loves food and just figured out how to mush up really soft cubes of sweet potato in her mouth, she looked like she felt so accomplished when she figured it out. She is such a happy baby, always smiling and laughing.
QOTD: All of the kids go to bed at 8pm. Our evening routine goes something like this: 7:00 tell the girls to get ready for bed (brush teeth, wash faces, brush hair, change into pajamas, showers if needed), quiet play/reading time until 8, hugs and kisses and into bed. I get Owl ready after the big girls are done in the bathroom and put her to bed right after I say goodnight to the big girls. I make a bottle for Apple and we snuggle on the couch until she is almost asleep, into the crib she goes and the sleep music goes on. AHHHHHH, quiet time for me.
TTC: We are waiting for AF to arrive. Meanwhile we are busy trying to shake the plague off and purge it from our house so DW can be healthy while trying to put a bun in the oven.
QTOD: DW and I both had strict bedtimes thru middle school years. In my house it was bath time, some TV time, reading, then bed. We are hoping to do something along this routine.
We had three BFN in the Fall of 2011. It is back on to some baby making come June. Swim little fellas, SWIM!!!!
How goes it? its going ... in cali for a week which is nice but difficult. at my moms house its easier to work remotely with girls and my mom will help .. but M'S MOM has made some snarky comments because we have not really seen her but sadly she is not an active grandparent and it kills me.. and their house is not so clean .. ugg what to do ...
QOTD: What is your kiddo's bedtime? They go down at 8pm and prolly would be down for the night till next AM but we are bit selfish and we wake them up at 11 and do a dream bottle feed and this keeps them down till 7ishAM and they play in cribs till 8
our routine is every other day they get a bath at 8 and bottle and down
I guess "bedtime" is after the 9p feeding since we immediately swaddle and try to put them down after the 9p, 12a and 3a feedings. Other feedings we will play with them or read to them if they're awake after eating.
I am excited about this mysterious future time when they will go to bed and stay there for long periods of time, thus allowing me to conversate or watch TV with my ladyfriend.
PCP: Getting prenatal vitamins today. I can't believe I'll be taking prenatal vitamins again!
TTC: We need to figure out the (possible) insemination schedule. Our KD has a number of trips planned this summer, so we'll have to hope his time around here coincides with my ovulation time.
QOTD: We just started having dinner together - the whole family, I mean. Before we moved, K would feed J, I'd get home at around 7 - 7:30, we'd play for a bit, then it was bath and bed for J. K did the bath, I did the books before bed and the tucking in. We had dinner after he was in bed, which ended up being super late for us. Lately, I've been getting home right before 6 most nights (yaaaaaaaaay shorter commute!), we all have dinner together at around 7, play a little after dinner, then it's bath, reading, and bed for J. He's generally in bed by 8:30, and we have some time together before we go to bed.
We're not super into scheduling - we do more baby-led than anything else.
Going fine here. Gwen is fun, talkative, and sweet... and determined, frustratable, and well, just a 2 year old! But we have her first swim class this weekend, so I'm psyched to see how she does.
QOTD: Gwen is normally down at 8. Our evenings are quick, I get home around 5:35 - 5:45 and get dinner started. Trav and Gwen get home around 6:00 - 6:15, and we eat as soon as dinner is ready. Twice a week its right upstairs for bath. The other nights we either head outside for a little bit, or upstairs to play (though lately dinner has been taking for.ev.er! so no extra playtime!). Around 7 - 7:15ish, we get her teeth brushed and PJs on, then all head into her room to read our night-night stories. After that, Trav leaves to walk the dog, and Gwen turns on her monitor and sound machine, then I nurse her while singing a song. When she's done, I put her down in her crib, rub her back for a minute, and then wish her sweet dreams and leave the room. That's normally right around 8. Sometimes she calls me in to ask for another minute of back rubbing, sometimes she talks to herself for a while, but normally she falls asleep pretty quickly.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD
We've been talking a bit about the baby's schedule. I want to keep him or her on one, but DW doesn't get home from work until 7-7:30. I'm home early, but I don't want dinner with just me and the babe. It will be especially tough b/c we're up early (5:30) since I work at a school. The scheduling seems overwhelming. Hopefully it will figure itself out!
TTC - Our sperm for the next try just arrived at our RE's office today, and I should start my period anytime now - so begins cycle number 3. I wish I could figure out these tickers so I could update them.

And so it goes. But RE and I made a plan -- cycle 9 = Clomid.
QOTD: I have no idea. For starters, we both get home between 6:45 and 7 so I'm really hoping my boss lets me switch to an earlier shift or daycare pick-up is going to be tricky. Eating dinner together is important to me. That's about as far as I can think at this point.
