So, for Ty's party I'm going to have a bowl of lollipops, or a lollipop stand (MIL has one), but I'm not sure how many lollipops to get. We'll have about 60 people, and these aren't favors. they're just going to be on the dessert table because it's a Hungry Caterpillar party and the caterpillar at through a lollipop!
How many I should get would dictate which one's I buy. I am looking at the LONG list of things I still need to buy and I want to limit spending where I can (such as lollipops), but I love the look of the rainbow swirl lollipops, but they're definitely pricier. Do you think I need to expect to have one for everyone?
Re: How many lollipops should I get?
I agree 25 would be more than plenty. We bought a cupcake for everyone that RSVP'd and were left with over half of them uneaten. I handed them out to other kids playing at the park we where we had the party. Seems most adults avoid the sweets.
Ditto especially when then have a stick hanging out of thier mouth. On the other hand I am a big kid so I don't care
hehe!!
We had 34 guests at DS's party.
I made 48 cupcakes and had 30 leftover (so 18 eaten).
I made 28 chocolate lollipops (as favors) and had about 12 leftover (so 16 taken).
You never need as many as you think you do, in my experience!!

Good to know that the sweets weren't eaten! I'm debating how many cupcakes to make! I think I'll do 24 chocolate and 24 vanilla and that'll suffice. I'm sure I would have asked that question later!
I had this grand idea to incorporate the foods the caterpillar eats... but he eats A LOT of sweets, so I may scrap that idea. I really don't feel like dealing with Ice Cream! (I was never going to do cherry pie - just cherries for the ice cream).
I'm already having frozen mango slushies, so I don't think people will miss the ice cream.
And maybe I'll just get small bags of the cheap lollipops from Walgreens instead of the cute rainbow swirl ones. That way I won't feel bad if they're not taken and I just throw them out because unless it's a caramel apple pop I generally don't eat lollipops!
