LO didn't like his infatn seat (Chicco Keyfit 22). He didn't scream all the time but he was unhappy most of the time in his seat. Since he is almost 21lbs I decided to go ahead and install the Britax Boulevard CS 70 that we got. LO is short and chunky. The black comfort pads are all up in his face and bothersome. I move the gray snug chest pads all the way down to the bottom where the buckle is but they are still sticking him in his cheeks. He still isn't happy when I put him in this seat. I also think I may be tightening him too much and he feels so constricted.
Since he is so chunky I moved the buckle (between the legs) to the front setting. I just saw where you aren't supposed to place it at this setting when the seat is rear facing. If I put it at the setting closest to LO its pinching him between his legs.
EDIT: 1. Can I remove the black comfort pads and gray chest clip (I'm talking about the HUGS, not the actual buckle) and just not use them? The manual doesn't say I can't/can remove them!
2. Does anyone have to use the front position for the buckle?
Re: Britax Convertible Users..Need help!
Looks like I found the answers.
You must use the lower buckle position closest to the child when rear facing.
You can remove the HUGS rear facing but must use them forward facing.
