I had a c/s last Wednesday (the 6th) & went home Saturday. While I was at the hospital the epi & everything must have had a longer affect on me b/c I only felt slight pain, maybe more like a lot of discomfort, when getting up & down. But I was getting up (especially once everything was taken off & I could w/out calling a nurse) as soon as they would let me. I've taken the percacet (sp?) twice on Saturday & that's it since then.
Also, my bleeding has decreased majorly already. Even before I left the hospital it wasn't bad.
Is this all normal or did I just get lucky?
Re: Anyone not have a lot of pain?
I had hardly any pain. I stayed on top of the pain meds for about 4 days, then life got busy and I realized that without taking meds, I wasn't in pain. I was sore (like I had done a strenuous ab work out), but that was it.
Just a question, was your baby in a high position? My c/s was unplanned due to failure to progress. (I had been induced due to high bp). My LO hadn't dropped and was still up pretty high. My OB commented that he was pretty easy to get out. I wonder if that made my recovery easier?

I didn't have a lot of pain. My doctor said I must have a high pain tolerance because I was off all pain meds the next day and only stayed in the hospital for two days.
When I got home I didn't take the prescription meds at all. Just OTC pain meds if I felt sore.
I did have a lot of leg/feet swelling. I was induced and in the hospital hooked up to stuff for days, before needing a c-section. So all those fluids they were pushing made my legs look like Shrek.
I didn't have a lot of pain from any of my c-sections (hope I don't jinx this one in the fall). I never took any pain meds in the hospital or at home. I feel like I got lucky 3 times, but I also know I have a high tolerance for "big" pain.........
I only bled for a week when I got home also.
Enjoy it and don't over-exert yourself!!!!
I'm pretty sure my baby was up high. I was also induced (past due) & the baby's heart rate would drop after each pitocin induced contraction. So I ended up with a c/s.
