I've been MIA from the boards for a while now.  I just haven't really had time to get on here.  In the meantime, we found out we are having a boy!  Super excited about that.  I'm wondering what you mama's are planning to do for birth control after you have your LO?  I am pregnant post tubal reversal so I really don't want to go that route again.  We are 99% sure we don't want any more children but I'm just not up for another procedure and DH is not on board for a vasectomy.

    I had the mirena iud inserted after my 3rd was born several years ago. I wasn't sure if I was done at the time so I didn't want anything permanent. The mirena lasts 5 years; I got it replaces 3 years ago, but had it removed last November when my DH and I decided to go for a fourth (which I'm now pregnant with). I'm not sure what I'm doing after this one is born; I may get the mirena again, or have my tubes tied.

    After my first (14 years ago with my first husband) I had Paragard (10 year IUD, and worked great, not hormonal). My second husband and I, we just had a baby last year, and now this one will be our last. We are not having any more, so we are closing up shop. So he is having a vasectomy. Since I'm a Type 1 Diabetic, he figured I've been through enough and feels I shouldn't have to have another procedure or take any more meds.

    I had the Paragard IUD inserted two months ago and have zero complaints. I like the fact there are no hormones. I have had my period twice since, but there is nothing different as far as that goes either.

     We are only having one child, I was a FTM at 36 (I am now 37).

    I'm hoping for a VBAC, and if it works out I tink I'm going to get an IUD, and DH will get a vasectomy (this will be our last). If I wind up needing a repeat csect, I'll ask for a tubal while they are in there. I told DH that when we are done, I don't want to deal with pills or condoms anymore.

    Hijoi - I've heard of that one... I'm not sure if my insurance would cover something like that. I may have to research it a bit.
