I'm definitely not tanning pregnant. Although the thought of seeing a pregnant woman getting in the bed makes me almostfall out of my chair with laughter.
I say no way. Use a self-tanner if your doc approves it - there are some really great ones out there now. Plus, some states do not allow you to tan when you're pregnant - so maybe you'd get away with it if you're not showing, but once you started to show, the salon could ban you. It's just like how we're supposed to avoid hot baths and such - the heat is too much for the baby, they have no way to sweat it out like we do.
if you'd do it anyway, why not? unless you are getting overheated in one of those old-fashioned beds there isn't any increase risk while pregnant...it's the same as before. i personally don't do it very often but i usually go a couple times a week for 2-3 weeks at the beginning of summertime, before i go to the beach.
I'm sooo white but never go tanning--I like to think I'm embracing the Nicole Kidman look (only a foot shorter and 50 lbs. heavier). Tanning is bad for you, even when you're not pg, and it'll make your skin look like leather when you're old...step away from the booth!
I don't do the bed, but I am super into being tan. I tan outside (summer all year here in south Texas...) and use self-tanner. WTEWYE recommends avoiding self-tanner while PG, so I stopped using that once I found out I'm PG. I only stopped the tanning outside when I got put on bedrest; if I could still go outside, I would still be laying out most weekends.
Re: to tan or not to tan
LOL! ?
to the OP, step away from the booth and embrace the pastiness. ??
Get a spray tan if you feel the need to look something other than natural - fake tanning isn't a good idea if you are PG or not...
I want to tan...I won't, but I hate being so white. Ick.
What tanning lotions have you found that work well? Is Victoria Secret's a joke?
