I understand getting less from the pump when DD has been nursing all day (I occasionally pump at night) but am getting less when I am at work too.
I think my supply is slowly going down...maybe she's taking less due to solids? Maybe she's just more efficient than my pump?
I don't know. Anyways, how often do you go in between pumping at work and how many ounces do you currently get? Both sides combined.
Re: If you still pump at work.
My two boys are getting a surprise May 2015!
When lo went on his nursing strike and I was pumping when he would normally nurse I would only get 2ish oz. my supply is great though my body just doesn't really respond to the pump much anymore. That and I am sure lo doesn't drink as much due to solid intake.
I pump 2x for about 15 minutes each and get about 6-7 oz (DD drinks about 8/day). I am def not responding to the pump like I used to!!!
We are going to start weaning this weekend, so I'm not stressing on it too much...
I am still an EP 4-5x a day (until my boy starts eating food better).
I work 2 days a week and pump around 10am and 230pm. I used to pump for 15 mins, now I have to pump for 30 mins to get the same amount =(
R averages 4-5 at work and L 2-3. So 6-8 oz a session.
I pump 3x a day, at 6:45 right after I nurse DD, at 10:30, and at 3. When you combine all 3 sessions, I get anywhere between 9-12 ounces. Sometimes it's even a little less, and very rarely it will be closer to 15--what I send to daycare. My supply has definitely gone down in the past few months. When I first went back to work way back in October, I was getting closer to 18 oz per day. I think it's just been a slow, steady decline.
I'm on summer break now for 4 weeks, but I'm still trying to pump once a day in addition to nursing DD so that I can rebuild a teeny freezer stash. I actually used my last bag of my previous stash on the last day of school. I'm hoping to have enough that I can slowly change her bottles from BM to WCM over a couple weeks.
Sounds like your experience is very normal. My supply is also decreasing, I think, or maybe it's just because I am pumping less often than I used to. At my peak, I was pumping 3x at work and was getting 16 ounces or so. Now, I am pumping 2x at work and am getting 8-10 ounces. LO usually drinks around 10 ounces at day care now, so sometimes I need to dip into my freezer stash, though usually I'm ok.
My intention is to gradually cut back the pumping at work to only 1x/day, or maybe even stop altogether, and let LO have WCM at day care and just nurse nights and weekends. So I'm not terribly concerned. Although I have to keep reminding myself of that fact. I keep being tempted to add back in a pumping session so that I don't have to dip into the freezer stash, but then I remember I am trying to decrease the pumping, and will soon be introducing WCM. It's just weird to NOT stress about not making enough milk to completely take care of LO, after stressing about that for so long!
