I'm 36 weeks and had my first internal exam today.  Apparently, my pelvic bones are super close together....like my dr couldn't even get two fingers in, so she is going to continue monitoring me, but thinks a c-section is likely.  Also, the exam was really painful
. I was always fine with the option of a c-section, but assumed I would be making the decision because of something happening during labor.  This kind of caught me off guard.  I'm not opposed to having one, especially since it does look likely that trying for a vaginal delivery could cause complications.
My question is...what would you do? Do I go ahead and tell my dr I just want to schedule a c-section or try to do stretches and wait until I go into labor??

I'd get a second opinion just because this seems odd to me. Didn't you have a pelvic exam early in the pregnancy? Did they not say something about a small pelvis then? Exams are always super painful (in my experience) in the last few weeks of pregnancy. I remember my OB warning me that they would be painful. It could just be that it hurt and you tensed up and made it more difficult for the doctor when it comes to the "two finger" thing. I would go for a vaginal delivery if it were me, just because I wouldn't wish a csection on anyone. If your doctors are really concerned though, do what you feel is best for you and the baby. Good luck!
I have a small pelvis also which was not discovered until 2 days before my due date and confirmed during my c section. Are you starting to dialte at all or efface? I never did either despite the fact that my dd was head down. she was actually sitting oblique/transverse . I was never going to go into labor on my own and she was presenting that way due to my small pelvis. They would not even induce because the dr's knew it would have ended in a emergancy section.
I say have a second opinion and then go from there but I never hesitated when they said c section. I knew it was coming anyway. I was all about just getting the baby into the world as safe as possible.
