I was just doing some browsing and read that if you have a tilted (anteverted or retroverted) uterus, the ultrasound may fail to show the baby until 9 or 10 weeks. The websites actually said that women with tilted uteruses (uteri?) are sometimes misdiagnosed as having had miscarriages when in fact the ultrasound just isn't finding the baby yet. I was told when I was in college that my uterus is retroverted. I have an ultrasound scheduled for a week from today and will only be 7.5 weeks, so I'm a little bummed. Have any of you ladies had experience with this? If so, how early was your ultrasound able to find the baby?
Re: Tilted (retroverted) uterus
my internal u/s's are uncomfortable most of the time thought because my doctor really gets in there and searches lol
I was just told about this the other day. I have a tilted uterus. I had an ultrasound last week at 6 weeks and they could find the gestational sac and yolk sac but no baby. That freaked me out because you should have been able to see the baby by that point. I have another ultrasound next week and hopefully there will be more to see.
Exactly. At least my uterus is easier to find than my left ovary lol that shiz is painful
