Level 2 UltraSound

Had the level 2 U/S this morning and we are expecting a healthy baby boy!!! I'm so excited and relieved. He's so stinking CUTE!!!

    Congrats! I too had an ultrasound today and it's always a reassuring feeling when you see LO doing well. :)

    what is a level 2 ultrasound?  That is so exciting to know!  now you can shop appropriatly!   On the way home from your ultrasound did you stop at the store and buy him a little something?  Im so happy for you!!!!

    Level 2 is a very in-depth 3D ultra sound that checks for spina bifida, downs, looks in depth at the brain, heart, kidneys, measures all of the limbs, head size, body size. It also checks my uterus, ovaries and placenta. I had one with my first so knew I wanted one with this baby. They take a good 30 mins or so for the doctor to thoroughly check everything he needs too.I wasn't doing it for any other reason than to have a good sneak peak. However it's nice to know that there's a healthy boy in there!

    In my area they measure all that stuff, but not with a 3D machine. just a detailed regular one.

    Adi I will have had one of those at my regular doctor too as it comes standard. The level 2 is way more in depth than the one at the dr.'s office, Infact I'm having the regular one with my doctor next Monday, more to look forward too! Google it and will tell you all about it. If you have the opportunity to do it it's so worth it. They are only usually referred to advanced maternal aged moms, high risk or known pregnancy issues.
