Math = Hard. A little help?

Since it's so quiet around here, I thought I'd pester you guys with what is probably a really simple issue that I'm making too complicated. Let me know if I'm so off here.

I don't know when my last period was - not a clue.  I do know that on September 30th we were 8 weeks, according to the 1st u/s. After two more ultrasounds, our doctor figured our due date to be May 14th. I went to a web site that lets you put in baby's due date and it will tell you the approximate date of conception. It said a baby due May 14th was conceived around August 22nd. So...how was I 8 weeks pregnant on September 30th? Am I missing something really obvious here, ladies?

What do you think? Huh?

    Well, what I can tell you is that for the first two weeks you aren't actually pregnant. They start counting weeks when you ovulate. Does that help any?

    Yup, SC is right, you're "pregnant" starting on the first day of your LMP.

    Example: I'm due May 11, my LMP was Aug 4 and we conceived on August 19. I know the exact date from charting and the fact that DH was OOT so we only had sex one day during that time.

    If you have a copy of My pregnancy week by week each chapter is labeled with what week you are according to your LMP and then what week your baby is.?

    So for me I am reading at 26 weeks along, but my baby is only at 24 weeks. ?
