2nd Trimester

Math = Hard. A little help?

Since it's so quiet around here, I thought I'd pester you guys with what is probably a really simple issue that I'm making too complicated. Let me know if I'm so off here.

I don't know when my last period was - not a clue.  I do know that on September 30th we were 8 weeks, according to the 1st u/s. After two more ultrasounds, our doctor figured our due date to be May 14th. I went to a web site that lets you put in baby's due date and it will tell you the approximate date of conception. It said a baby due May 14th was conceived around August 22nd. So...how was I 8 weeks pregnant on September 30th? Am I missing something really obvious here, ladies?

What do you think? Huh?

  • Well, what I can tell you is that for the first two weeks you aren't actually pregnant. They start counting weeks when you ovulate. Does that help any?

  • You are fantastic. That's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks, SC!

  • Yup, SC is right, you're "pregnant" starting on the first day of your LMP.

Example: I'm due May 11, my LMP was Aug 4 and we conceived on August 19. I know the exact date from charting and the fact that DH was OOT so we only had sex one day during that time.

  • If you have a copy of My pregnancy week by week each chapter is labeled with what week you are according to your LMP and then what week your baby is.?

So for me I am reading at 26 weeks along, but my baby is only at 24 weeks. ?
