I don't really have a budget, but I am a super cheap person and I love shopping for bargains so I'm not too concerned about spending a ridiculous amount of money..
My fabulous in-laws gave us $1400 towards the furniture (they did that for their other grandchild) We would have only gotten the crib because I love it and we would have gone cheaper on the dresser/changer if we were paying on our own. THANK YOU IN LAWS! I'm so grateful.

We found a crib/dresser/changer combo that converts to a full size bed for $230 at the PX. (Military store) That's all we're buying. I don't see the need for buying lots of things we'll never use.
We are using a dresser that we already had so the only thing we bought was the crib--$219. My sister told me that changing tables are useless (she wound up changing her DDs in the crib, on the floor, on her bed, etc.)so we didn't get one.

DD's was about $650. We got a borrowed crib, which was good because DD hated it. Most of our budget was a twin bed mattress, a baby bed mattress, and a wool carpet. I had a chest of drawers that I painted.
We picked out a crib for $270, but my parents ended up buying it for us for a present. We still have to buy a mattress. For everything else, we're using hand-me-downs and aren't buying a thing...we're really lucky.
IL's gave us 1800 for the furniture. We're just going to IKEA because I can't stand the idea of having another child ruin things. We bought brand new pottery barn furniture for DD and she destroyed it with teeth marks, scratches, etc. We're barely going to spend 800 so we're giving them the rest back.
My grandparents wanted to buy the baby's furniture. We got it on sale for about $1350 from BRU. Crib (that turns into toddler bed), dresser and armoire.
