Baby Showers

Cupcake question

At the shower we are having 2 dozen cupcake plus a regular cake.  DF's aunt asked what I would like to have as toppers for the cupcakes.  We are expecting a girl, Paige, and the theme (if there is one) is just pink/purple.  What are some cute, creative ideas for a topper/design for the cupcakes? So far, the only thing weve really decided on is just pink/purple frosting but if there are any other ideas out there im open! :) TIA!

Little chocolate candies, like the ones you mold and freeze? You have options then with molds, butterflies, they have packets with booties and bottles, or flowers... teddy bears?

  • When my mom and her best friend threw my shower, they dyed the actual cupcake batter pink, frosted them with white frosting, made two black dots for eyes and got super inexpensive pacifiers to stick in the top. They were super cute and I guess they got the pacifiers from the dollar store in like packs of 4.

They kind of looked like this except the actual cupcake was pink:

    Flowers in Pink or Purple

    Ribbon Bows

If you have a nursery theme maybe something from that. For example I would probably put flowers and butterflies on mine.

This is the cutest thing I have ever seen - I'm totally stealing this idea for the next time I host a baby shower! I love it!

  • If you want something easy, take a white candy melt and flip it to the smooth side. Pipe on the baby's first initial, P, in a pink or purple. Then just press into the top of the cupcake. You can also add a border around the circle or dots.

  • You could get the little silver bead sprinkles and dot them around the frosting and add little purple and pink flags with the letter P in them.
