Hey girls.  I was really excited to finally participate in my first Elfster, but I'm afraid I won't be able to this time around.  Our budget was a little tighter than usual this month plus we came across some unexpected expenses in the last couple of days.  Nothing emergency related thankfully but enough to not allow for me to join in the fun. :(  I'm really sad about this because I had finally decided that I felt good about trying it.  I was really excited to send one of you girls a fun package.  This post doesn't really have too much of a point other than to say I'm sorry I can do it this time. Broken Heart  When would another typically come up?  Maybe in the fall?  I love seeing everyone's PIPs when they receive their care packages Gift and can't wait to be a part of one!  I think it's a wonderful thing to do to lift each other up above and beyond the support we already give and receive.  So I feel bad to have to bow out this time around, but look forward to another one later in the year.  And until I can send some goodies, I'd like to send HUGS for now.  I don't know what I'd do without all of you!  Left Hug

    I'm so sorry. Sad That completely sucks but I understand the need to step down. That was one of the reasons why I was slow at participating as well. Money has been tight but I think we can swing it this month. I can't wait until the next one and you can participate!

    I am sorry but do not worry about it.  I know it sucks that you cannot join and get a fun basket but I am sure we will have another one soon.  Hopefully, you will be able to join in by then!  If you are worried about hurting our feelings, don't!  We are fine and know you are here to support us and we are here to support you.

    You girls are absolutely incredible!  Your kind words are making me tear up. I really hate that this board has to exist but I couldn't ask for more care and support!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    I know what you mean....I had to bow out too. Our wedding anniversary is later this month. DH is always so good at getting me cool stuff, and I found something I know he will love, but it was more than I had budgeted, so I had to decline this one. It sounds like it will be lots of fun. Can't wait to see the PIPs of everyone's packages!

    Good for you for being financially responsible though.  I hate it when I have to buckle my belt but it is always rewarding after I make it through.

    This is why I didn't join too. Bummer. :(

    I'm more likely to be able to do one in the fall, so I definitely hope we do another one in a few months!

    Maybe the one we do in the fall could have a lower price point (I am not complaining about this one's price point--I voted for it.  Just for something different next time).  Then, more people might be able to participate.  We could do a single, small item.  It might be time for the new girls to get their own lucky socks!?  Just a thought.  I know it's WAY too early to make a real plan for Fall.

    That's a nice idea!  Although I'm good with the $25 limit; it's just THIS month was a tricky one.  I'm really hoping to join in on the next one and I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem. :)  I do remember seeing PIPs of everyone's sockies and loved it!

    Maybe we could do a card or post card exchange at some point?  Or recipes?  Low cost bust still fun.  

    We had to do some major belt tightening when DH was out of work, so I can relate.

    Yeah, I missed the socks, so maybe part of my motivation is sock envy.  Wink
