Teachers! I have my interview today! Eeekk

Any thoughts/tips for my interview? I'm so nervous. It's my 4th year and I'm still nervous! What should I wear? Conservative black/white/ gray or a little color? I have a pretty coral top that looks great with khakis and nude or brown heels or is that too casual? My interview is at 4:00. I'm going to be a ball of nerves all day!

I would definitely go dressier than khakis. Otherwise, the best advice I have is just to RELAX as much as possible. Of course you want to make a good impression but you have to be able to be yourself. When I get nervous my words don't come out right and I sound less capable than I really am. So listen to some calming music on the way to the interview, pray/meditate or whatever, and breathe deeply! You will be great!!

What? I think it is the best advice you can give. Be who you are except if who you are sucks. Then don't be who you are. Be someone who doesn't suck. Duh.

I've worn a light gray suit/skirt with a colored cami. Nothing too crazy, just something to give it a little color. I wouldn't wear khakis.

My butt is stick free (hence my AWESOME advice) but I did notice you have a bit of a limp yourself.

Thanks for the input guys. I've been trying on clothes off and on this morning when LO will let me put him down for a minute! I think you're right about the khakis. And Haleymay, I hope you reserve your winning advice for Internet strangers and not IRL because your peachy attitude deserves a punch in the mouth. Just sayin'. It was never made clear on the phone but they have openings in 1st and 3rd for sure and possibly 2nd. I teach 2nd now. Any of those grades would be fine with me.

I think I've decided on a black pencil skirt and a lavender button up collar shirt for a little pop of color and black closed toe heels. Too hot for a suit in Tx. I'm so excited it all still fits and looks good! Been a while since I've had to really "dress up" professionally. I definantly don't wear heels to school.

You must suck if you are afraid to be yourself because be yourself is great advice. Is that a threat? Do I have to report you? Are you threatening my safety?

I would never want my child to have a teacher who feels physical violence is an accpetable social outlet.
