    4) We are going to Pride this weekend and I am excited and nervous. Excited because I have never been, nervous because it is a very public function with my family.

    5) Ky woke up crying last night and DW tired to put her back to sleep for like 20 minutes.DW finally handed her over to me and she passed right back out....

    6) I felt bad for DW but sometimes you just need your mommy.

    7) I have yet to plan anything for Ky's party and I feel like such a slacker.

    8) 5 of my VMs are from the same person and she sounds more irate and irrational in each one...tha tis going to be fun to call back.

    9) My boss is on vacation all week and my other boss is in meeting most of the week, which leaves our department without a supervisor...awesome.

    10) I made a BIG batch of puppy chow last night and now I want some really bad!!!

  • 1. I'm sitting in the RE's waiting room...endless waiting.

    2. We're on vacation, but not in Florida or anywhere like that because we have to be here in this office at the whim of my ovaries.

    3. We parked in a parking garage..it always makes me nervous to leave my keys with garage staff.

    4. The Colorado fire makes me nervous for my parents' cabin out there, even though it shouldn't be an issue with this fire.

    5. We spent the weekend with my sister, BIL, and nephews.  The nephews have entered a phase where 'poop' is the funniest word in the whole world.

    6. And I have one 19mm follie.  I'm conflicted about one lately - I don't want twins, but it feels like more than one increases the chances of any pregnancy now that we've been waiting...

    7. I think our doctor thinks we're nuts for the fact we both come to almost every appointment.

    8. We're going to win  a million dollars in Atlantic City this week.  DW has never been to a casino before so we'll call it beginner's luck.  :)

    9. I really like not going to work.  Not sure if that's a positive thing or a negative.

    10. DW and I talked about getting our cable back for the Olympics and presidential  election.

  • Trying this from the phone...

    1.  We're moving today - aaaaaahhhhh

    2.  Found out yesterday at 12ish the the current owners were letting us move in early which is awesome given the 25 days until due date count down

    3.  Can't sleep

    4.  Also I'm super hungry and craving breakfast sandwiches... Wondering if I can manage to wake EV up???

    5. I'm scared of going into labor on moving day since we've joked about that possibility with our midwife on several occasions...

     6. All this talk about Pride really makes me want to go...  It's next weekend out here - we'll see but it's probably not going to happen :-(.  Hope everyone who's going has a great time.

     7. We're almost ready for this move I think...

     8.  I better get up..

    9.  When the baby moves it is starting to feel a lot more forceful - he's getting so big!!!

     10.  Mission breakfast sandwiches is about to begin :-P

  • 1. DW is at school right now w/ Sprout cooking dog treats to benefit a dog rescue organization. So cute.

    2. Social worker visit for his quarterly home inspection today. My house is a mess. I'm so over these f-ing home inspections.

    3. My infertility pangs are acting up again.  BFing dreams (literally - at night, i dream of bfing babies. wtf?), birth stories, baby bumps. ugh.

    4. I don't know why they call it the terrible 2s.  18 months old is the devil age - I'll take 2 any day!

    5. I'm really bummed that we dont have more family help with the kids. There are days when raising kids in a commune or polygamous family looks really appealing.

    6. I had too much cake this weekend. but, it was delicious.

    7. I can't wait for ptown - its coming up!!

    8. I want to take RB and Sprout to see Madegascar 3 but I looked it up on common sense media and didnt love the review.  why cant they make a good kids movie??  maybe i should take them to chimpanzee (though that one even has 'idiot' in it)? has anyone seen it?

    9. I'm cranky today. I need a day off, to myself. but its not gonna happen.

    10. off to get a snack!

    7. I think our doctor thinks we're nuts for the fact we both come to almost every appointment.

    Yes! Ditto for us.

K went to every appointment, TTC and prenatal, even if I was just getting weighed and urine test.  I think it's normal :)

  • 1.  Ptown vacation next Wednesday!  I can't wait!  I just bought 8 ferry passes from Plymouth with a Grou.pon.  Which means we can take the ferry to our 2 planned trips (June and July) and have an excuse to take 2 day/overnight trips during the summer.

    2.  3 more days and K is home until the end of August!  YAY!!

    3.  We had a second showing of our house yesterday and our agent called and said she would be absolutely blown away if we didn't get an offer.

    4.  My stomach is in knots.

    5.   I discovered why N isn't sleeping (which I posted about on the other board).  We took him off his reflux meds, about 6 weeks ago, to see how he would do.  He was great!  But then about 2 weeks he started acting different and then I remembered it took 3 or so weeks to 'kick in'  I *finally* put two and two together yesterday - suddenly spitting up + up.all.damn.night = he still has reflux.  I put him back on it last night (Zantac, not the one that took 3 weeks to kick in) He has been napping since 9am.  First time in weeks. Poor kid.

    6.  N is absolutely hilarious.  He climbed into a bookcase yesterday and rolled out, unphased.  He is trying to climb up the couch, crawling up and over everything in his way, pulling himself up on everything, attempting nose dives off everything and anything.  I walked into his nursery yesterday and he was standing up, with both hands in the air, looking like he just one a million dollars.  He toppled and popped right back up. Seriously?? He just turned 8 months old!  I swear, he was rolling across the room last month and now standing in his crib with no hands?!  Stop the madness!

    7.  3 more days!!! I can't wait to spend the whole summer with K and N.  I am jittery with anticipation.

    8.  I hope we get an offer today.  We are itching to put an offer on the house we saw this past weekend.

    9.  I feel like I need to go running, I have so much excitement/adrenalin coursing through my body right now.

    10.  But N sleeps on... I guess I'll settle for a shower.

    Happy Tuesday everyone!

  • 1. Our adoption tax credit came in yesterday!

    2. Owl's birthday party is this weekend and we haven't decided what food to serve.

    3. I need to move the cradle out of our room, no use having it there when it's not being used.

    4.  I think we've settled on adopting one boy and then we are done.

    5.  We are so excited to hopefully finalize Owl and Apple's adoptions in November.

    6.  J's promotion depends upon a visit her store is getting on Thursday, I hope it goes well.

    7.  My cat is going to have her babies soon, I hope she keeps them close to the house so I can keep an eye on them.

    8.  I replaced coffee with green tea, so far I really like the change, though I might grab a tall something or other from Starbucks today.

    9. If we manage to put most of the adoption tax credit into the credit union and get credits for the girls next year, we will have a very nice down payment on a house/farm.  Hopefully J (and her family) can manage to leave the money alone, becoming a home owner is really important to me.

    10. Getting Owl to eat has been a STRUGGLE but she seems to be gaining weight, she looks a little rounder.

My friend saw an advanced showing of Brave and said it was wonderful. She loved it, her 4 year old loved it, and even her 18 month old liked it and sat through the whole thing!

    1. Wisdom teeth are not wise. They are stupid.

    2. One of mine is at war with me, and it will lose. The battle has been scheduled.

    3. C.VS is also stupid. My dentist called in a prescription yesterday at 4:30, then called me to say it was done. K went to get said prescription at 8:30, and they said it hadn't been called in. I left work at 9, found out about it, and called the pharmacy myself. They said they didn't have it. I begged to differ. Idiot man on the phone said, "You're assuming the error is on our end." I said, "That is correct," and he hung up on me. For realz. Then I got a call from C.VS at 10:03, but I couldn't get to the phone. No message. They called again this morning apologizing profusely because they DID have the prescription; someone put it in the wrong pile. Yeah, thanks.

    4. I'm hungry, but I didn't pack a lunch today. Soup from the cafe across the street is in my future. I wonder what they have.

    5. Babybabybabybabybabybabybabybabybabybabybabybabybabybabybaby

    6. Got to buy ovulation sticks to pee on like a maniac starting in three weeks or so.

    7. I've been doing this for two hours. I think it's time to go get that soup.

  • 1.  We are nearing the end of our tww thankfully.  I am proud I only had two mini melt downs. Doctor apt on Friday (14dpo).

    2.  M thinks she has a great sense of humor... I told her I didn't think the IUI took.  She told me she was sure there is a baby in there (due to my swelling).  I then asked her what if there isn't and she said "well then you got fat".

    3.  Our new security system is getting installed on Monday of next week and we have a lot to get done before then.  Time to get down to business and clean up remodel mess.

    4.  I woke up feeling funny today.  I can't really pin point what's wrong but I just feel weird and blah.

    5. As I work from home today our dogs (two big boxers) are snoring very loudly at my feel.  They are vibrating so badly it feels like someone put a quarter in my chair.

    6.  We are trying to replace the flooring in our house and it is turning into a more stressful event than ever.  We have picked the floor but are now dealing with our home owners association to get approval for a pod storage unit to sit in the driveway for a few days.  They are not being very accommodating.

    7.  Is it Friday yet?

    8.  Pride is this weekend although I do not think we will be attending.

    9.  I want to take a mini stay-cation or long weekend but I am trying to save my vacation for our ttc journey or maternity leave. I can build up 5 weeks before they cap me so I would really like to have that saved when I do finally take maternity leave or should I need to use it before.  I debate this each week and probably will continue to do so.

    10. Rizzoli and Isles is back on tonight!  I cannot wait.

  • ((HUGS!)) CT!

    1. Life has been so stressful lately that I didn't do ANYTHING for C's birthday!
    2. The stress of life for both of us right now has us falling asleep in our recliners as we try to veg for a moment and failing to kiss each other goodnight.
    3. We witnessed a pre-schooler push Little Man at daycare and I nearly flipped...I am realizing I am going to be very protective of my Kiddos!
    4. I think we are going to Philly...I think.
    5. My daughter is visiting my Mom right now and didn't even tell me she was going! I would have liked to have the opportunity to have made arrangements to meet her there. But then again, she did take her boyfriend and his kids.
    6. Hmm, what should I plan for C?
    7. For all of you who struggle with PCOS...HUGE HUGS!
    8. I feel like having dinner with a group of L's who are 50+...just to not feel guilty about not having dyed my hair in a month...LOL!

I love this show. I am in love with Angie Harmon. I think she is hot, hot, hot.

Did you see last week? So good!

Yes!!! I think I actually did a happy dance when it came on!  I just wish they were getting along better although I know that will take time considering last season.

Oh and they are both hot!

  • 1. Back from our holiday - Seattle, Orcas Island and Vancouver. I loved it all!

    2. Gained 5lbs on vacay!

    3. Have some sperm on the way to our RE's office.

    4. My cycle is so whacky since it went off track that I have honestly got no idea when to expect my LH surge.

    5. Hoping that 5lbs wont hurt my chances of conceiving! I'm considering waiting until next cycle so I can get back down a few pounds - any thoughts on this?

    6.  I bought some Toms. A black sparkly pair, and a wedge heel colorful pair. I think the sparkly pair make my feet look like boats (size 10) but I kept them anyway - because they are comfy and I'm lazy.

    7. Its Pride this weekend, and we've used that fact as an excuse not to do stuff with V's family. Really though, I plan on catching up on housework and loitering about my living room.

    8. I think the above means I am old.

    9. I boycotted Target for a long time, but now I am so glad I can shop there. Cheap, cheerful and I can get many household items in one place.

    10. I wish Target had more organic options and encouraged people to bring their own bags more. Then I'd go there for more. For now Vitamin Cottage, Whole Foods and Sunflower Market are where I shop.

  • 1. After reading 2mommies, I went and made myself a PB&J for lunch. Mmmm.

    2. Working from home today and it is slow.

    3. Of course, the second I walk away to make said sandwich, work calls my cell... which I left sitting on my desk. Doh.

    4. I'm bummed that its raining today, since its so nice and cool, and I'd love to throw all the windows open.

    5. The dog loves PB, so she's watching me eat my sandwich and drooling all over the floor! Ew.

    6. I'm making a strawberry-rhubarb pie tonight... never made one before. Never even had one before! But I hear they are awesome and really want to try.

    7. Gwen's first swim class is this weekend. I'm so excited to take her!

    8. Three teeny, tiny peppers are starting to come out on Trav's jalapeno plant. Yay!

    9. I've determined Light & Fit Caramel delight yogurt is not good. It tastes like a weak melted Werthers candy. Ick!  I don't like how runny regular yogurt is now that I'm used to greek yogurt. I think I'll stick with my fruity greek yogurts!

    10. Okay, I've got nothing else.

    1. We ditched our cable when we moved and don't have a TV right now.  C mentioned maybe we should just not get one and I REALLY hope she considers it, I'd be so happy without one.

    2. But she's been planning to get a flat screen for almost a year now because she wants an X-box.  I don't think she'll really use it, but I don't have any good reason to tell her she can't get it.

    3. Today is the second anniversary of my dad's death.  I miss him.

    4. My sister and I are 100% opposites on how we deal with things.  She posted all over facebook about it and tagged me in some photos she posted.  I had a few quiet moments alone remembering him, and don't really want facebook sympathy.

    5. The apartment is getting there.  The kitchen is functional, the bedroom is looking good, but we still have a TON of boxes to unpack.

    6. We're going to pick up a desk I found on CL tonight.  I'm a little obsessive about getting as much used as possible, for the Earth's sake.

    7. But we totally bought a big bookshelf, a kitchen cart, and two nightstands from IKEA.

    8. I still don't feel quite comfortable at my new job yet.  There's just so much I don't know.

    9. I love my office and coworkers.  It has such a friendly atmosphere, which is nice.

    10. How is it 2 pm already?  I need to go track down some lunch.

  • 1. Last week I was banned from this board at work. Now, no problems. Odd.

    2.  Being out for 5 days was awesome - but I am buried under a mountain of work.

    3. Today was the first day I dropped the kids off at camp. Let's all hope the traffic isn't like this every day. 25m to get to camp and 90m to get from camp to work. I was an hour later than I planned to be (which is already 30m later than I am supposed to be at work.)

    4. And because L has a work commitment tonight and a school commitment tomorrow night, I am doing pick up - meaning I need to leave early.

    5.  L is coming with me to Philly. I am nervous. She is such an introvert.

    6. I spent $70 on a pair of shoes yesterday. I NEVER spend that much money on shoes. But ohmygoodness they are comfortable - they are based on the barefoot/minimalist type of shoe.

    7. I found another pair of Merrells that I want and I spent an hour last night trying to find a discount code. No luck. Boo.

    8.  Just got out of a 2 hr meeting and have to leave in 45m to get the kids. #9 and #10 later. :)

Oh my, I cannot believe you do not know this! Chex cereal covered in melted chocolate/penaut butter mixture than rolled in powdered sugar....yummy! I guess a lot of people call it muddie buddies but I grew up with it being called puppy chow since it does kind of resmeble dog kibble lol.

Do you think she would mind me asking her about her (school) work? Qualitative data fascinates...all my work has always been quantitative, but I used to envy my colleagues who did interviews/focus groups.

  • 1. Our upstairs is a disaster.  Actually so is our downstairs.  It's the first time I am happy Pumpkin isn't crawling--too many splinters, wood, scraps...

    2. Social worker called and asked to bring some paperwork over. "Sure as long as you don't put the state of our house in your report."

    3. Pumpkin's excema is TERRIBLE.  I feel so  bad for him.  I just gave him an epsom salt bath.  Ugh.  Any other tips?

    4. Thank God for my second freezer now--and for all my freezer meals!  We're using them this week :)

    5. Our friends who came for renovations were amazing.  I wish they could move in for a month.

    6.  They decided to build a closet in Pumpkin's room, and now I want one in the girls room.

    7. I got this wardrobe  off of craigslist.  It was going to be in Pumpkin's room--now I think it will be in the playroom for toys. I want the matching table now.

    8. I wish L or I were more handy in general.  We're just not.  I have great ideas, just no brute strength.  Too bad she's not butch ;)

    9. My monthly book club meets tomorrow night. I am torn about attending. I feel the need to get projects done at home, but rarely go out. I know if I don't go, I will be resentful next time L wants to go out with her friends.

    10. Cursing 2brides shoe talk.  I want Roos.

    Erat:

    1. GREAT taste in wardrobes. (We have the same one for J. Smile)

    2. Eczema... Oy. Lots of experience here. Our advice: no soap on his skin. Just dunk him in water, let his skin hydrate, then pat him dry (leaving the skin semi-moist) and get as much Aqua.phor on him as you can manage. If it's super bad, there are wraps you can use at night, too. Let me know if you want the name, and I'll give it to you. Good luck! If it's any consolation, at least in our case, it really didn't seem to bother J one-fifth as much as it bothered us...

2b - we also used 2.5% cortis.on.e and, when it got really bad, deson.ide. These went under the aqua.phor.

YUM ... ok recipe me please

9 cups rice or corn chex

    1 c semi-sweet chocolate chips

    1/2 c creamy peanut butter

    1/4 c butteer

    1 t vanilla

    1 1/2 c powdered sugar.

    1) Melt peanut butter, chocolate chips, and butter in microwave. It usually takes like 45 secs and stir a lot after to make smooth. Stir in vanilla.

    2) Pour chocolate mixture over checx pieces and stir to coat all pieces.

    3) Place chex and powdered sugar in resealable bag (I use a giant tupperwae container because really it is a LOT of cereal) and shake until coated. Spread on wax paper to cool.

Steps 2 and 3 kind of have to be done fast before the chocolate hardens so it helps if you have everything set up and ready to go. I usually have all of the cereal measured out in a giant bowl ready for the chocolate. Then the powdered sugar container with half of the ps on the bottom so I can jsut dump in the cereal and then the rest of the powdered sugar and shake. Ky LOVES this as an afternoon snack, of course I have already given her pb and she is not allergic so check that first with S&L! Enjoy!

    3. Pumpkin's excema is TERRIBLE.  I feel so  bad for him.  I just gave him an epsom salt bath.  Ugh.  Any other tips?

Both my niece and my friend's baby responded really well to "Stelatopia Moisturizing Cream" by Mustela.  Stelatopia is a whole line of baby eczema skincare.  It's expensive but works really well.  Also, if you need to use some sort of cleanser in the bath, make sure it is fragrance free and soap free.  Fragrance free Dove beauty bar or Cetaphil are often recommended, although I find Cetaphil irritating.

You can also try using half the recommended amount of laundry detergent when you wash his clothes.  The recommended amount often leaves behind a lot of detergent residue, which can be irritating.  As long as you use warm water, half is more than enough.

Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm.  I am 35 and carrying.  Endometriosis and DOR.
    AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish

IVF #1 - antagonist.  Empty follicle syndrome.  1 retrieved, 0 fertilized.
    IVF #2 - antagonist.  Ovulated early.  3 retrieved, 2 fertilized, 0 blasts
  • 1. Last night sucked.  Everyone was down by 9, but with a teething baby, a clingy crabby baby, a recovering from being sick toddler, I got about 2 hours of broken sleep last night.

    2.  DId manage to get the boy to school on time.  Yea!

    3.  I have my soon to be 95 year old grandma with us this week.  She is usually in a home care facility, but is relocating back to her home in L.A. on Friday (She will have a nurse come in to help) and she is almost as needy and demanding as my wee ones.

    4.  It is finally quiet in the house as DW and all the children and grandma are napping, my big girl is in the pool with a friend.

    5.  I am trying to figure out a day trip to do on Friday with the Family.  I am thinking of taking everyone to maybe Santa Cruz Thursday afternoon, spend the night so we can wake up there.  My only problem is I like to stay as close if not on the beach and am having a hard time stomaching spending over $200 on a room just to sleep.

    6.  We celebrate wifey's Mother's Day on Father's Day and #5 would be so we could all be together as DD leaves for camp Saturday Morning.  Anyone else celebrate their partner on a different day?

    7.  I am happy that wifey is off after tonight until Sunday night, I really could use some sleep, but drat these mommy ear's that wake up regardless if someone is crying.

    8.  All of this talk of Pride really has me wanting to go to ours coming up.  We usually take BART into the city to avoid the traffic, but last year I stood by a dude in assless chaps on the train and that kinda creeped me out=)

    9.  I wish it wasn't so hot.  I love going for walks and can't always pull off strolling with the kids first thing in the morning or at night when it cools down.

    10.  Today I am trying to keep my inner crab inside.  It sure is hard=) Maybe I should make some of that yummy Puppy Chow to perk up! =)

We even switch to just washing in vinegar to help when it got really bad.  Also, have you considered switching him to a non-dairy formula?  Eczema is often a sign of a dairy allergy - and dairy allergies are very prevalent in the AA population.

We did everything under the sun for RB's eczema and the miracle answer was no milk.  A week after we switched to almond milk (she was over a year old before we figured it out...) the eczema disappeared and now she has smooth beautiful skin!

    7. I think our doctor thinks we're nuts for the fact we both come to almost every appointment.

    Yes! Ditto for us.

K went to every appointment, TTC and prenatal, even if I was just getting weighed and urine test.  I think it's normal :)

I have always wondered if our dr thinks it's weird that my wife doesn't go to any of them...

    5. Hoping that 5lbs wont hurt my chances of conceiving! I'm considering waiting until next cycle so I can get back down a few pounds - any thoughts on this?

If you want to lose the 5 lbs for yourself, so that you'll get pregnant at your "normal" weight and not normal + 5, then by all means go ahead.  But 5 lbs is not going to affect your chances of conceiving -- especially since your body will probably lose a couple of those over time just by going back to your normal routine.

They say if you're overweight that losing even 10% of your body weight can help your fertility -- so if you had a 10% gain maybe it would be a cause for possible concern (even then I doubt it).  But unless you normally weigh 50 lbs...I think you'll be fine.

  • N2A - Of course - but now it looks like she isn't coming. She thought she had been able to schedule one of her dissertation interviews in Philly and was going to do it while we were at Franklin Park. But now the guy can't do it so she is going to stay home and transcribe. Poo.

    9. I spent 4 hrs in my car today just going from home to camp to work and then doing it in reverse. Shoot me.

    10. Our peeing cat problem is getting worse. Our house smells like THAT house. We've tried every remedy they have suggested with no results. We started having discussions about putting him to sleep. :(
