Lurker here....
So LO's party was going to be at a park but because of a schedule conflict we are having it at our house. Our house is too small to have it inside with all of the guests we're going to have. Our problem is that our back yard is sloped. There is a flatter area in the middle that is flat enough for tables and chairs but it's still slighty sloped. Our front yard is completely flat, and while we don't live on a busy road, our house is in plain sight of a busy road. So what would you do? Have the party on the flat front yard in plain view of the public, or in the slightly sloped area of the back yard?Neither is ideal, and I am super stressed about this, and really aggravated with work for not being cooperative so I could just do it at the park like we planned.
Re: Help me settle a dispute....
I vote backyard. Would you be willing to let people go in and out of your house? If so keep the sliding door open to the backyard (if you have one) and let people rome. Trust me, people will conform to however you put it together. Dont worry! it will all turn out.

I'm sorry things aren't going as planned
I'm sure it will be a great party regardless.
If you have to choose between the 2, I would say backyard. Especially if there will be kids there. If you want, though, I don't see a problem utilizing both areas. Maybe set food areas and kid stuff in the back with games geared toward older kids and adults (i.e. ladder ball, horse shoes) in the front. I'm just weary of little kids playing freely in the front close to any street (busy or not). With so many people wandering, it would be easy for one to escape.
Thanks ladies, backyard is what I thought too. I will definatley let people wander freely in and out of the house, we have a pool table and dartboard downstairs in the basement aka "man cave" that I'm sure will get used but seating wise I guess we'll use the back. I just needed reassurance since DH thought I was being ridiculous for not wanting to do it in the front.
I agree with this.
