Why does such a small human need so much stuff??

i had my baby shower a couple of weeks ago and I am still trying to organize all the stuff I got! I even took things back that I knew I wasn't going to need or thought it was unnecessary at the moment...but seriously it is overwhelming! I live in a one bedroom apt and trying to make room for all the baby clothes, crib, bottles, bottle warmer, bouncer, swing, and all other stuff is just insane!

How did families make it waaayy back in the days when none of this was available? They survived so how come it seems that we just need to have that bouncer or else?!

Venting session over..thanks ladies for listening...now back to organizing! :)

    Haha, here's a secret from a 3rd time mom: they DONT need all that stuff :)

    i fully know the feeling, I'm fortunate that I can use my parents house as storage since they live very close. But as far as organizing and space saving try Ikea. I love Ikea so i might be partial, but they have a lot of ideas and good products for organizing in small spaces. I have no idea where you live but there is at least one in most areas and they ship. good luck.

    We are currently in a one bedroom. Moving into our new house when the baby is about a month old. I REFUSE to go crazy like I did with DD. I still have her swing and that's all I'm setting up besides the PnP til we move. Babies don't need all the extra crap and I don't need more junk to pack! lol

    DH and I were just saying that the other day.  I am not planning to use half the stuff I had before and right now nothing is setup, although the covers are washed but DH will do it while I am in the hospital since.  Last time I had a pack n play in the family room, swing, chair the child had more sleeping containers than I knew what to do with.  DD mainly used the swing and her co-sleeper in our room.  Plan this time is swing in family room, rock n play on main level if needed (got that mainly for easy travel since we go to my MIL?s summer home a lot in the summer, and co sleeper in our bedroom.  DD is still sleeping in the nursery and won?t move till she is ready sometime this summer.

    you will eventually learn what you want to use and what they don't need..sometimes the stuff people get you they dont need till they are a little older. But I agree it is a lot of baby stuff these days!
