High-Risk Pregnancy

Appointment schedule for GD

Wondering how often you see your OB and MFM from 30 weeks on? How many of you are having weekly NST's? If you are having weekly NST's is there a reason besides GD, are your sugars out of control, is baby measuring LGA? Also when did you start growth ultrasounds and how often do you have them?

Thanks!

Re: Appointment schedule for GD

  • With DS I was getting NST's  3 times a week the last month. My sugars were under control with diet and Glyburide and DS was measuring fine.

  • I have had GD since 9 weeks....I am 30 now. I just started having 2x monthly appts. Dr said it was due to 3rd trimester and not GD. I am diet controlled

  • I was diagnosed at 28 weeks and went on insulin at 30 weeks.  Once I went on insulin, I have an appointment and growth U/S every week.
  • I am diet controlled, my sugars are very well controlled, and I have had weekly appointments since 30 weeks (I am 32 weeks now). I start weekly NSTs at 34 weeks and don't have a growth scan until 37-38 weeks. The GD is the only reason I have to start weekly appointments earlier than normal. I asked my doctor if I was considered high risk, and she said they consider it a normal pregnancy as long as my sugars are controlled with no insulin. But I won't be allowed past my due date, and may be induced earlier depending on the NSTs and growth scan.
