Got sent home...grrrr

Was having strong contractions the other night and they were coming every 5 minutes, lasting atleast a minute and I had them over an hour. DH and I went to the hospital and they even said they were definently strong enough, but since they weren't 2-4 minutes apart they weren't going to admit me GRRRR.

Now I sit here at work continuing to have contractions that aren't 2-4 minutes apart. There really is no point to this post...just venting lol.

    is it up to whatever dr. is on call from your practice or the nurse's at the hospital if you stay or not? do you know?

    That is what the nurse said for the hospital. She did call the on-call OB at the practice I go to (who is not my regular ob/gyn) and he said to send me home.

    That stinks - but so does hanging out in the hospital.  Just think of the positive - maybe you're making progress, without being completely miserable.

    At least they told you they were actual contractions, and you know that things are in motion for you!  And I'd rather be at home where I can be comfy for that early labor stuff.

    Yes I agree. They gave me the option of going home or staying and walking. I chose to go home. It was late in the night and I would have rather been at home. Maybe next time :)

    I feel your pain :( My contractions that sound just like yours stopped about 6 hours after they sent me home from the hospital, but I am still getting the same painful contractions, only irregularly now, for about 3 days. I'm hoping I'm making some kind of progress with these contractions, it would suck to be in pain for no reason.
