This broke my heart, and a quick whine

We were all driving SS back to Bms last night, and when we were just a few minutes away SS randomly said to DH...I can't wait until we get old and die...say what?? He then said that after him and DH get old and die they'll go to heaven and get to be together every day. Now, this was part of the sunday school lesson that morning, so it wasn't TOTALLY off the wall, but it still just broke my heart for a 5 year old to interpret it that way.

In other news, the same BM that can't afford the gas money to split driving now just got a brand new dodge charger. Supposedly it was a birthday present from her DH. I just know if my DH could afford to buy me a brand new car I sure wouldn't be complaining over gas money for a couple trips a month...

    This made me tear up.  How sweet/sad/heartbreaking for your SS.  It always crushes me when I hear about kids making comments like this.  Hugs to you and your husband, I can't even imagine how hard that must have been to hear.

    If it's any help, you're not alone in the "BM doing less than the bare minimum" club.  BM finally got a car after a year and a half of no vehicle.  During that time my husband and I were doing all the driving.  Now that she has a car she refuses to come pick up K, despite the CO saying that transportation will be split.  My husband finally put his foot down and told her she needs to come pick up K, and that's the end of it.  BM called the police once, and when we showed them the CO she was immediately reprimanded for making a false "withholding" report.  As Wendi said: it's a matter of priorities, and your BM has made it clear what her priorities are.

    My SD has asked if we could all move into one big house so they could see us all every day. Sweet, but not going to happen!
