Kinda bummed about milestones

The other day while I was at work, DS started giggling for DH.  Luckily, DH had his phone and was able to capture it.  However, tonight, DH told me that his mom got LO to giggle.  I have yet to hear it for myself or get him to do it.  Sort of bummed that my MIL got to experience something I have not.

  • I can definitely understand where you're coming from.  I've been lucky enough to catch all of the milestones thus far, but I'm so paranoid to leave him with anyone because I don't want to miss anything!

  • That's tough. We've been going through that a bit with our DCP seeing things before we do. I have decided that I can't let myself be upset or jealous that someone else is seeing it first. After all, even if I am not first to see something, I'm still super stoked to see any milestone that is new to me for the first time.

This is an awesome attitude to have!

Thanks for the encouragement.  I feel so silly feeling jealous, but I'm also super excited for the day he'll laugh or giggle for me.

  • Don't feel too bummed.  K will laugh for Hubby and my mom but will only kinda giggle for me.  I mentioned it to my ped at her 4 mo check when she was asking about how K interacts with people.  The dr said that often LOs will laugh for dads, grandparents, siblings, etc because they look at those people as people they get entertainment from vs. mom who is for food, cuddles and soothing.

  • that is a bummer. I told people to stop telling me when our older DS hit milestones without me. Then, if it wasn't the first time, at least I didn't know!! haha.

I'm 97% sure I caught his first steps, but he could have been walking like a champ at DC for weeks and I'd never know the difference.

That is rough about the MIL. hugs to you.
