First late night trip to the ER

Sephy is running a fever of 100.4 which is right on the cusp of being dangerous, so now we are waiting at the ER.  FX that it's just our new parent paranoia.  :(

Re: First late night trip to the ER

  • Oh no!  I hope everything is okay.  You did the right thing to take her to the ER.  Some Tylenol may keep it down.

  • I've always been told not to be too worried unless its closer to 102 with small kids, if I took any of my kids for less than 101 we'd be in the er many times a year. But it is scary the first time, hope it's nothing big for you.

I hope that it's new parent paranoia as well.  Let us know how she's doing.

  • They took her temp 3x, it was 95 (seriously?), 97, and 99.  Then they did a blood draw and urine sample just in case.  Not fun.  But, no signs of a bacterial infection.  She probably just has a virus.  We were told to give her baby Tylenol and keep an eye on it.  So no biggie, but we are glad we went anyway, otherwise we would've been up all night worrying about it.  I guess we can put this down as a milestone.  :P

Better to be safe. We were told any fevers under 2 months go to the er. Glad everything turned out ok.
