Learning Tower (step stool)? Is it worth the $$

Just wondering if anyone has this and is it worth the price.

  • Got ours on CL for $60. It's definitely worth that. Not sure I'd pay retail unless I was the kind of mom who was in the kitchen all the time. But it will last through several kids and then we'll resell it for $60. Kiddo loves it.

  • I never bought it b/c of the price and I would have had to have 2, plus they don't fold if I recall which seems a bit of a pain...I will say they look pretty cool & there were times between age 1 & 2 that both kids were interested in standing at the counter with me and even though they could stand on chairs it was really hard to have both of them like that from a safety standpoint but I feel like with 1 kid you could technically find a stool or something that could work but if you're willing to. pay the LT seems great.  At 2 1/2 I got them the regular fold up step stools (cosco brand or whatever that they sell a lot of places) and they are perfect so I think if you can hold off w/ something else  til 2 or so ( based on size I could have gotten them at 2 but we were moving & it was not a priority) you can get a regular stool.

That being said, if you're planning to have another LO and will be able to use it again, I say go for it. :) For me (no plan for more), it was a very limited lifespan.

  • If you're at all handy, you can make your own... And this one folds!

  • I think they're pretty cool... but couldn't get past the cost.  I found a tutorial for DIY on pinterest and my husband whipped one up on a weekend.  It's not fancy shmancy, but it didn't cost much to make and he had fun building it for DS.

Exactly this.  I love it, we use it a lot but I wouldn't pay full price for it.

  • The one step ahead version is slightly less expensive and folds.  If you're handy, you can make you're own but a friend's dad did this at the expense of a few finger tips!
