Future Daycare Users

Please remember that when you bring a sick child into daycare, it can have significant negative impact on so many people.

My 2.5 year old is running a 103-104 fever. I'm due tomorrow. She can't sleep and all she wants to do is cuddle with Mommy. So, either I go into labor now and my poor sick child can't visit me or her new sibling in the hospital. Or I go into labor later this week and most likely I, DH or her grandparents will be sick. It's making for a very stressful situation.

I'm super ticked because this little boy at daycare was CLEARLY very ill for two whole days. He was curled up in the corner of the room and one of the teachers said he was burning up. I know all illness can't be prevented in a daycare setting, but the child was clearly very sick.

That's too bad that the daycare allowed him to stay and get other children sick. DS's daycare sends kids home with a fever and you aren't allowed to bring them back until they are 24 hours fever free. I know some parents will just give a dose of ibuprofen/tylenol, which really pisses me off, but eventually the meds wear off and the fever shows up and the child is sent home.

I hope your DD gets over the fever and nobody else gets it. My MIL, who was supposed to watch DS when we went to the hospital, came up ill the Sunday before my c-section. Thankfully she was well enough to watch him on Wednesday when I had DD and managed to not give it to him.

That's supposed to be the rule at our daycare too. And I keep by it. I have no idea why this child was allowed to stay. I'm going to talk to the director on Monday, because this is ridiculous.

sounds like your daycare needs a fever finder... if any kid was just a little off i took thier temp... 9/10 times i caught a fever early and no other ids got sick.. ticked off some parents but i was preggo and didnt want to be sick either

That's BS that they let him stay. Especially 2 days in a row. I'm sorry your DD is sick. Mine was sick for two weeks and I was just praying that LO wouldn't come during that time. I hope you/your family don't catch it!
