tummy time = spit up time

my baby girl is 3 months today and absolutely hates tummy time. she will tolerate max 5 min at a time, and guidelines suggest an hour total per day! she also seems to be constantly spitting up during tummy time both before and long after a feed :( she has a very strong neck but still hates it (even with every musical toy, 2 mirrors, crinkle paper, etc). does anyone have any tips or experiencing anything similar?

    I started off Dom with a pillow to elevate the front half of his body and that helped out with his reflux at first, and slowly worked in more time without the pillow. He is doing very well now and is able to keep down his food.

    OH man, my DD is the exact same way. I've read that tummy time shouldn't be forced, so I usually leave her on her little tummy time mat until she starts crying which is about 5 seconds later haha. I've had success by elevating her top half on a pillow, or putting her on my lap. Also, she's way more open to it in the early morning, so I've been doing it with her as soon as she wakes up every day, and that's been great... She's always in such a good mood. Putting her on the edge of my bed, and then crouching down so she can see me has worked well too. GL!

    My boy hates it too, and used to spit up a lot. I roll up a receiving blanket and put that under his chest, which seems to make it more bearable. I pick him up when he starts to fuss too much or spits up. I also hold him as much as I can throughout the day so that he has to hold his head up, which I figure strengthens most of the same muscles.
