November 2012 Moms

What. The. Eff.

I've been one of the lucky ones so far. Nausea in the beginning, a little gagging, some food aversions...but nothing too bad. Today, I woke up at 3am, played around on the computer a bit, let my dogs out, and PUKED MY BRAINS OUT! The day after we find out we're having a girl, she decides to help give in to the OWT that 'girls make you sick'. Ugh! Anyone else start puking in the 2nd tri? I'm hoping this is a one time thing.

Re: What. The. Eff.

  • Me! I only actually threw up once so far. Like you, with the early nausea, gagging, and food aversions, but no early vomiting. Then two weeks ago I sat up in bed about half an hour after going to bed, and was like oh no... DH fed me some crackers, and I just looked and him, said "uh oh", and raced for the bathroom. It was AWFUL, but it han't happened since. Hoping your experience and mine were just a one-off. Feel SO bad for people who can't keep anything down...

  • I am one of the unfortunate ones who has been sick the whooooole time.  I recommend Preggie Pop Drops.  They are OK.

  • If it was just one time and you've never had it before, you could have a stomach bug, and it may not be related at all to pregnancy.

I thought that at first too, but I've been fine ever since. Ugh, who knows! :)

  • I was the same way in the first trimester. Just nausea and some gagging and some food aversion but as long as I ate something every two hours it was fine. Now that I'm in the second trimester, I'm gagging a lot more and I've thrown up twice. It's not nice. I'm finding that I'm gagging in the mornings when taking a shower. Anyone else have that issue? I've been taking a luke warm shower almost cold to keep it under control. I also started gagging yesterday on the way back from the store before the car cooled down. If I'm having some kind of heat aversion, this summer is gonna suck. I live in Arizona and it's already over 100 everyday. Or could it be a water aversion since before the store we went out to eat and I had two glasses of water. I have noticed I'm feeling more nausea after drinking a lot of water.
