Well, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad I made it past my EDD without going into labor. I guess I'm just sharing a little for the sake of getting it off my chest, but it was a really REALLY hard week.
My mom passed away on Monday from complications from her long battle with MS. Monday was also our wedding anniversary... Her funeral was on Thursday, my DD, and it was such a long day of answering everone's "Oh, when are you due?" "Today, actually" "Oh..."
Thankfully, DH and my friends have been so supportive through it all, but I'm definetly in one of the weirest emotional places of my life right now.
If we have a little girl, I think I want to use my mom's name as her middle name.
OK, thanks for listening :-)
Re: Glad LO stayed in past DD
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I lost my mom over 6 years ago, before we even thought about kids. I think using her name is a lovely idea. If we had a daughter we planned to use my mom's name somehow. We've brought her picture to the hospital the last two times and we packed it again the other day. It really helped me through. Good luck in your labor.
I'm so sorry for your loss. What horrible timing for it all to happen. I think it would be great to honor your mother by using her name.
My baby is due on the 6 year anniversary of my father's death. Since we are pretty sure it's a boy and it had already been decided to name him after DH, we are going to give him a second middle name to honor my father. My family is actually hoping the baby will be born on the anniversary just to give the day a positive spin. Maybe the birth of your LO will be a bit of hope and joy for your family to cling to in this difficult time.
