Home from 6 hour visit to L&D

Last night at 3am I got up to go to the bathroom and it was bright red and sorry if TMI but there were bloody chunks. So I woke up Dh who is sick with the flu and he took me to ER and from there we were admitted into L&D so they could check on baby. The scariest part was that I was going to call my doctor today because I have only felt the baby once in 3 days. So they put two monitors on me, one for baby and one to monitor contractions. As soon as she put on the monitor, baby came to life! They had me do a urine sample and when I brought it out to her she was like, Oh my that is Red.

So we pretty much just laid in the room for 3 hours while they looked at my urine to see if it was urinary bleeding or cervical. I was having contractions but not enough for concerns, because they said if I had an infection that that could cause the contractions. The doctor on call was about to deliver two babies so we had to wait on him from there.

Finally at 9 am he was able to see me and checked my cervix and I was all closed and firm and there was no blood. So he is sure it is urinary. SO i am on an antibiotic till Monday when they get the culture back, but if it is negative they are going to have me go in to my OB for further tests. He thought it could also be kidney stones. So we will see. I havent had any other symptoms of a UTI or bladder infection. So now I am exhausted, crampy, and still nauseated from having the flu!
