Diagnose please

DD has pimply looking things everywhere that her diaper touches, not entirely covering but A LOT.  They are also traveling up her belly.  And she has a few on her hands and on her feet.  No new diapers or lotions or detergents.  Fever was 100.2 after the bathtub.  I'm thinking HFM but she had pretty much the same thing in December and the dr said IF it was HFM, it was a very very mild case.  DD1 has random bumps over her body and a few red spots on her feet.  Any ideas?

  • Chicken pox? I don't know. Would you feel cool with posting a pic or something?

Did you call the nurse hotline? I usually go all helicopter mom and think "OMG! I NEED TO TAKE LO TO URGENT CARE!" and then they make me feel better.

  • With the fever I'd call a pedi or something.

Without a fever I'd say a fungal rash (still possible with an unrelated fever).

ETA: I just read about them on her hands. I'd go with HFM

  • I would think the fever would be higher with HFM unless it is maybe just starting and the fever might get higher.  I would say viral rash, but with it on the hands and feet...that throws me off.  I would get it checked to be sure though, so the pedi can look in LO's mouth to see if there are any in there.  When DD had HFM, she had them in her throat and all over her legs but not actually on hands or feet.  But the fever was 103 and pedi said 102-104 is most common temp with HFM.
