Hey everyone just a brief overshare to end the week with. I've been seeing an RE about some issues I've had over the years in relation to hypothyroidism and annovulation. The general wonderful IF stuff. So not only does my SIL get KU the same month that my DH and I started officially trying, she now just found out there's two sacs-likely twins. I'm beyond happy for her, but just love the perfect timing.(snark)
I need a drink.
Re: Just a brief vent
I should of done that, but too lazy! lol
OP - if you're on cycle #2, why are you seeing an RE?
OP, I asked because per your siggy, only 2 months! Now I'm not saying you don't have a right to feel the way you do, BUT you could be KU'd really soon, so don't borrow trouble! Also, have you been diagnosed with infertility issues....as you casually referenced it.
A few things....
In your intro post, you stated that you were using OPK's to detect O. If you have known you were anovulatory for years, how would an OPK detect anything? Were you on medication to make you O?
Also, did you hit puberty really early? I think most of us are not ovulating at the age of 10. And what tests were done when you were 10 that told you that you were not ovulating and that this was a problem?
I am so confused.

Wow is there something in the water in your neck-of-the-woods?

This still doesn't answer the question though.....were you using OPK's because you were taking medication to make you O? Or what was the point of that if you are certain that you are anovulatory? And also, from what I understand, hypothyroidism doesn't automatically make you anovulatory....so what tests were done to tell you that you are indeed not ovulating? I am sorry that you are going through some struggles, but I am having trouble connecting the dots here.

I hit puberty way early as well. I wonder if there are any studies on how hitting puberty so early affects someones reproductive future. The doctor I've been seeing for years suggests it can be indicative of hormonal issues. I guess thats a big 'duh'
Well, not in my case. Early puberty, but no hormonal/ovulation issues.
So basically, for the last 12 years, you have been getting monthly ultrasounds that have showed no ovulation? But the OPK's were just on the chance that you did ovulate on your own? I honestly have no idea about this stuff, so I am sincerely asking, it just doesn't make any sense to me with the information you have given. I think that because the information isn't clear, people are not as likely to be able to empathize with your frustrations.
That said, I am sorry that you are struggling, and hope that you can get the answers you are looking for.

I never once said I was having ultrasounds monthly for twelve years. I had several in high school for cysts etc. I didn't ask you to demand every detail of my medical history, I was simply sharing an anecdotal story about how sometimes it seems like when you want something-everyone else gets it but you. When you have Hashimotos/Hypothyroidism-you are put on therapeutic drugs to alleviate the symptoms and affects. What information in my original post wasn't clear? The part about my SIL getting pregnant with twins?
I'm trying to quote, but using this website from an iPad is a PITA. I think it worked this time,
What are you taking for Hashimoto's?? Just curious I was told they could do nothing for me. Then I had my thyroid removed so I have a whole new bag of worms now.

Do you find clips of a guy getting kicked in the junk upsetting too? It isn't any different...
I wish, I drink a ton of water... If it was only as simple as drinking water...
Wow. Pardon me for misreading some of the information. In an earlier post you had said that you had known for 12 years that you were anovulatory and then in another post you said you had been getting monthly ultrasounds. Apparently I misread. I hope that I am also misreading your tone in this post. Did you miss the bolded parts of my original post where I said that I was honestly curious because I didn't know how it worked with hypothyroidism? Or the part where I apologized for your struggles and wished you well?
My point was that many times people have come on this board complaining about their "trouble" trying to get pregnant, when really they were borrowing trouble. In your original post, it wasn't clear of what your struggles were. You may have noticed that almost everyone that posted before me was questioning you. My goal was to try to articulate the same questions that everyone else asked, in a way that made sense. Unfortunately, sometimes people that genuinely are struggling do not get the empathy that they might expect, because people are not able to piece together their story. What I mean is, that if someone looks at your siggy, without knowing the details of your history, they think you are complaining about TTC for 2 months, when obviously there is a lot more to your story than that.
So forgive me for trying to understand something. I don't really know what else to say to you because you seem convinced that I am trying to be a biitch. So for the third time, good luck with everything.

So, were you lying in your intro post, or are you lying now? Or both?
I don't buy any part of your story for one second because this just reeks of fish.

OP - sorry you are getting the 3rd degree. I have PCOS and I can tell you I was anovulatory for years & I didn't have monthly ultrasounds. I know because I didn't have periods. Ever. My husband and I didn't prevent pregnancy for 1.5 years and I never had cycles to track. Obviously my health took a drastic turn (had WLS and lost 170+ lbs, making my PCOS undetectable through u/s and b/w) and I began having cycles for the first time in my life at age 25. Had my DD and my cycles (fortunately) returned regularly when she was about 10 months old.
Anyway, all that is just to support you that it can be possible to know you aren't ovulating. With some conditions, medical support is advisable as soon as you are ready to TTC, not the customary 12 months.
Keep your chin up - just think about all the sleepless nights your SIL has to look forward to.
