Toddler drooling?

My 27 month old daughter's chin and shirt are always soaked.  She leaves her mouth open a lot, and many times when she is playing she will have her tongue sticking out.  She seems to be too old to do this and certainly too old to be so drooly.

Anyone else's kids do this?  Until what age?  I see the pedi this week for our infant and I plan on asking him then, but I don't necessarily anticipate getting more than a "she'll grow out of it" response.

  • Could be the 2 year molars coming in. I know DS went through this at one point and thought he was too old for that but I figured out it was his teeth.

Could it be your LO has low tone in her mouth? You can try using an electric toothbrush inside her mouth and around her gums to stimulate her senses. She may become more aware of the drool and work on keeping it in, swallowing, etc.
