Although not as quick as my first (DS born an hour after arriving at the hospital) our little girl made her appearance June 6th at 12:54 am.
The short version: After dinner with my IL's we decided to go get ice cream. While there, I started having some contractions. I was under doctor's orders to go straight to the hospital if I started having contractions of any kind. So I went home, took a shower and the contractions kept coming so we went to the hospital. I felt silly because I was sure it was false labor because my contractions were 8-12 min apart. In triage they found that they were actually only 3 min apart and I was 6 cm dilated and 80 percent. When my doctor got there, my BP started spiking and when it got to 183/103 he said "We need to get this baby out now. I'm breaking your water." I was also put on a magnesium drip which was not fun. But it was a great labor and I wasn't in any pain until I got to 8-9 cm (no epidural). I got pretty vocal at that point telling people to be quiet during my contractions and demanding the fetal monitor be removed (no dice). I pushed for 20 minutes and she was here. If I hadn't delivered quickly I would have had to have an emergency c-section, so even though I didn't want an IV, I was very happy with the way my labor went.

Thank you ladies for your support and advice over the last 38 weeks. For all those doubting themselves and fearing labor, you can do it. I am still so amazed at what our bodies are designed to do. It is an amazing journey.
