If so, in what situations? I'm trying to figure out if I should get rid of my city mini double. Love that stroller but it seems silly to keep it since it's just sitting in the basement. Thanks!

Re: Anyone use stroller after 3.5?
Very rarely now.
Anywhere that we would go where might need one - like an amusement park, normally has some kind of rental stroller service.
Yep. My DS can't ride a bike yet and doesn't handle walks longer than a few blocks very well. I just bought a new Britax B-Agile which is fabulous. I would say that I probably use a stroller 2 to 3 times per week. We picked up the B-Agile because our previous stroller (Micra Lite Fast Fold) was too small for DS (he had outgrown the weight limit by about 5 pounds).
I would keep the double since it would be very useful at places like the zoo or museum.

Using the Subway with a child can be very difficult. I still use a stroller (chariot Cougar) with my 3.5 year old because we don't own a car, and I definitely bring our lightweight stroller on the bus and train. She is too little to hold on to a pole if there are no seats, so the stroller is a much better option.
I disagree because if your child is used to walking it might work for them but when we went to NYC at Christmas-time and spent 12 hours walking around DS needed to sit for part of it. We walked from the PA parking On w 39th all the way to E 60th and back. I know some people are appalled by the thought of my just turned 5yo in a stroller but that is a lot of walking for my suburban kid. At almost 5.5 he did great without a stroller in London. But until recently we would go for power walks with the stroller too.
It may look foolish to you but maneuvering with a child on a subway or any situation where they are walking for an extended period of time a stroller is super handy. We use it all the time when we are out and about in the city. My son can walk but multiple city blocks for hours and add some shopping bags/snacks/change of clothes and you have an awful experience.

We are keeping our Mclaren sport until she maxes the weight limit. Will we use it more than one time a year - probably not. But we will keep it just in case.
DD has lived in Europe most of her life. After 3, we really didnt use it for the sightseeing around a city (hours worth of walking and such).
But when we go INTO places where we dont want her to run, like museums you bet we strap her in.
Now that we will be back in the US, we will be doing more at home sightseeing and amusement parks (the grammys are all over this for some reason). THAT just scares me for some reason.
Heck, I'd be nervous to take the kids on the subway without a stroller. I'm sure the kids walks at times, but maybe it was for safety reasons.

I just used it for my 4yr old last night. I used it from the car into the hospital (ER), during the entire ER visit (that is where he preferred to sit), and then back to the car. If he wasn't sick, he would have walked.
Other situations where I would use a stroller would be things like the zoo where there would be a ton of walking and either 1. we would have to leave early because the child was tired of walking or 2. I'd have to carry him all over the place because he is tired of walking. I can say though, that he (my 4yr old) is about done with the stroller. In general, he just doesn't need it and he is getting old enough that he basically just needs to suck it up and walk longer distances.
