This may be more of a third tri question but I was wondering for those who have been through this before when you had your baby shower and when you started your gift registry. I'm really antsy about starting my registry but I know it is still too soon.

haven't been through this before, but I started registering at 22 weeks and I'm not sure, but I think my shower will be around 34-35 weeks...

It was around 20 weeks. After I started feeling DD move, I felt more comfortable getting that stuff ready. Plus, we had a lot of out of town family sending things, so it made it easier for them.

I registered after I found out the gender of the baby. So, around 20 wks.-24 wks. I had to update the registry later in the pregnancy because some stuff was already out of stock or discontinued by the time the shower came around. So, having said that, I wouldn't register too early. My showers were at 34 and 36 wks. DH's work threw us one and then I had one friends and family shower.

With #1, we didn't find out the sex. My mom was antsy, so she dragged us to register when I was about 16 weeks. I felt a little awkward b/c I didn't feel THAT pg yet. The registry wasn't touched for a few months (I was due Mar.31, and had my shower mid-Feb.). It was nice to reg. that early b/c I didn't have to do it when I was more uncomfortable, and a few of the things I wanted were discontinued a few months later. We were able to pick them up ourselves b/c they notified us. If I had found out the sex, I would have waited until after the U/S. I am planning to register for just a few things (at others' request) for #2. In fact, today I'm going with my friend who is pg w/ #1. She wants an experienced person with her, so figure I'll just start mine up, too.

I am in the same boat. Right now I am doing alot of researching here and on websites. We are going to go registering in January.

I started registering at 20 weeks after my big ultrasound. I think my shower is going to be mid january (but it is a surprise so I am not positive) I will be about 32 weeks give or take a week or two.

Thanks everyone for your input. I think I'll start the registry after the big u/s. I'll definitely want to have some pink stuff if its a girl!

We started our registery this week after finding out is a girl. But I am not planning on having a shower until February and I plan on doing a lot of changes to it before Feb. I just wanted to get it started - the lady helping me acted like I was way early. Oh well.

It may be early, but if you want some stuff for Christmas it may not hurt to start a small list. I started my Target registery online first, which was just the basics (bottles, diapers, etc). I didn't register in the stores until around 20 weeks when we found out the sex.
