I'm glad I'm not the only one with a post labor meal planned! I'm going on a strict diet after Baby is here, so it's my last junk hurrah. I want 2 bacon hamburgers, fries, a baked sweet potatoe and chocolate frostie from Wendy's.
Mine was grilled ham & cheese, tomato soup, vanilla pudding, strawberry milkshake, cookies, fruit cup, and a side of bacon. Of course it was the hospital menu and I was not allowed real food until 2 days after my delivery. I was starving and ordered everything that even sounded good to me at that time.
I'll have whatever is on the hopsital menu (they do a special dinner for new parents). But I want a glass of my favorite wine with it! It's chilling in the fridge right now hoping I'll need it sooner then later!
We had hyper emesis the ENTIRE pregnancy, weeks 5-36 (delivered @ 36w0d). My husband ordered pizza while I was in labor (I was and am COMPLETELY ok with this, he is amazing), and I asked for Gelato from the pizza place, it's amazing.
He ordered me salted caramel gelato and sweet cream gelato. I snuck a tiny lick of sweet cream while in labor, SOOOO good. Well, I puked my way down the hall on the stretcher into the OR, I was sooo ready for food tho!
I only pushed for about 10 minutes, but after about 2 minutes of pushing they said "what's your focal point? I have to know, you are doing AMAZING, what's your secret???" and I said "GELATO!!!!!".... The entire OR started laughing and before I knew it the entire OR was chanting "Gelato, Gelato, Gelato". We were dying laughing!!!!
Two minutes later, baby A was born. Then began work on Baby B, chanting started again, "Gelato, Gelato, Gelato".... and then the entire room went silent. Cord Prolapse, her heart beat dropped to 80 and I was given general and emergency csection immediately to get her out. I hear from my husband that after the emergency was over they were back to Gelato talk!
I got my gelato 12 hours later. AMAZINGLY worth it, both babies AND gelato
I guess my hospital does a steak dinner, however what I plan on doing right before I go into labor is indulging in a spicy chicken meal from Wendy's. After baby, there will be no more fast food for a LONG time.

Jimmy John's Turkey Tom is my FAVORITE! If only we had them in here in CA, I would have that too! I think I'd like a piece of hawaiian pizza from Roundtable! YUMMY!
now that you've made me think of this. as soon as i can eat real food (non hospital), i'll be getting a huge burrito from a local Salvadoran food place with lots of the special hot sauce they make. it gives me wicked heartburn so i haven't had it in a while.
