Anyone else with tearing find standing painful?

I had second degree tearing, I'm not sure this is the cause of the pain but when I'm standing it feels like gravity is just pulllllling on my perineum and it's extremely uncomfortable. I'm wondering when this will go away. It makes walking difficult.

  • Try working on your kegels. Also, make sure you're using your sitz bath and peri bottle religiously! If you have tucks pads, use them for the swelling, and try Mama Bottom Balm for a nice cooling on the site. I have a just less than 3rd degree episiotomy. The pain eased off about 1w pp. My skid marks are all that hurt now.

  • I had a second degree tear in back and a first degree in front. I also had a ton of swelling. The first week, just walking around my tiny house was miserable. By week 2-3, I felt mostly better, but overdoing it (like going up and down the stairs a lot, or walking around a couple stores) would make me hurt.

I'm now a month out and I feel 98% better.... just pushed my daughter's stroller a couple miles today and only have a little pressure down there.

  • I had a first degree tear and it's now getting better when I'm walking and standing.  I feel like the is pressure towards the front if I'm up for more than an hour but that's getting better now too.

  • I had 2nd degree tearing as well and I totally know what you're saying. Just yesterday standing in line at the pharmacy I felt like I was going to pass out it was so painful. It feels like all of my organs are weighing down directly on my stitches; so painful. Sitting is no picnic either :/

  • I was snipped... However, stitches are stitches.

Standing and sitting for me was painful... Pretty much laying down was the only comfortable position for me. Try sitting on a pillow for extra cushion or on your boppy ( a boppy has many uses ). And just don't stand and limit your walking. Get other people to help you. It took me a week to feel like I could move around again and even at that point it was gingerly.
