We are no where near deciding on this name yet, this is just one that we finally put together and both liked. I'm still working on my full name list. Just wanted to see some opinions.. Please, just yay or nay. I don't want to hear that I'm trying to hard or you would never name your kid this because hey, you're not me

and if you have another option, throw them at me please, thanks!

Re: Axel Raines?!
Nay.
I have nothing against Axel, but with the MN Raines.... No.
This. Seems super cheesy, like an ode to Axl Rose and November Rain. Love Axel, but not with that middle.
This is so hard for me. I love Blaine too. Also, Slade but I can't think of middle names and I've tried everything possible. These names are better as middle names but I don't like the whole "middle name being a first name". I never would have thought a boy would be so hard to name.
I understand about the middle name first name business. My DH name is what we want to use for a middle name but it's much better in the first name slot. But I just don't dig using the middle name as the first name. So we are stuck there. Does Axel Slade work?
Axel Raines does sound like you are quite the Guns n Roses fan. Which is fine. I would like to use the name Jeordie as a tip of the hat to my favorite band, but we aren't so sure. Nothing wrong with a more rockin' name
1/12/13 DD was born
4/9/16 DS was born
9/17 CP
6/23/18 BFP EDD 3/4/19
This is exactly what I thought as soon as I saw the title!
I actually had Axel Slade together wrote down too and love it. My DH is just like whatever makes me happy, so. He did like Axel and Slade. He wasn't sure about Raines either.
I am a fan of GnR but mainly just all 80s/early 90s, in general. I actually didn't get any of these names from any band that I like but googled unique names and found a lot. I like different, but not ridiculous. Ya know?!
Middle names...
Guy, Levi, Bram, Rune,Merritt, Falco, Dante
I like Axel Slade!
Actually, if I find something that my picky mind likes, for sure. James is actually my husbands and sons name. I did suggest James with Axel but we thought that might be too many James' in our house.
I've heard a lot of people talk about this guy from housewives but I've never watched it.
The bolded was my first thought too. Too much?
and btw: I like Jeordie!
I honestly never gave it any thought to what you bolded, lol. Raines was something I came up with last night but wasn't sold on it, which is why I posted here. I do like Axel though because you just don't hear it around.
This.

Why not Axel Blaine or better yet, Blaine Axel? Two birds, one stone...
I'm another that says nay to Raines. I LOVE Axel Slade though.
P.S. Your other children are freakin beautiful!
I don't mind Axel.. my cousin's son is Axel Jens, which is Nordic.
But I think an equally edgy MN does seem a bit much. Axel Slade or Axel Raines are kinda out there. I guess I'd pair Axel with something a bit more traditional so that he has an option that is more conservative if he prefers.
Axel Thomas, Axel Phillip, Axel Henry, etc.
Thank you so much
I'm starting to wonder why I didn't put Axel Slade up instead of the Raines. Raines was something I came up with in five mins last night and shared it since everyone shot down Slade. Axel and Slade have been my top ones the entire time, so why not put them together?! I naturally thought that maybe I wanted Slade to be the first name, but not big on first names being middle names. So, I'm rooting more for Axel Slade.
I tried this too. It's just nothing seemed to mesh well the way I wanted it to, with me anyways. I'm so picky and change my mind every day. I'm going to put some more thought into it and hopefully will put something together that I'm completely certain of..
Thanks to you and everyone else for your input.
Love Axel-it was my and DH combined second choice but decided against it because we live around a lot of car people and to them it might as well be a name like tire or hood.
I don't know what your other beautiful kids are names but Axel is no longer unique #361 for boys in 2000 gaining to #132 in 2011.
I just don't like Raines? for a boy, maybe a girl middle name. Slade or Blaine is fine.
