I am so beyond over not having my body back...but heck...it was lost before I got pregnant LOL
So ...i have ordered THE INSANITY work out. I am not doing the whole Shakelogy thing but am going to try the work outs. I have to do something to lose this weight. tracking my food and intake is just not enough.
What are you doing to lose the weight?
Re: So over this baby weight
I second that thought! I breast fed all the way until I went back to work...only bc they do not offer a place or time to pump...but it didnt help me lose the weight.
It doesn't happen for everyone, but with DD I (and hopefully with this one!) I didn't really start loosing weight until 3 months pp and then it fell off quickly. Give it time, but also keep watching what you eat and exercising!
Amen to this! Like pp, I think bf-ing is actually inhibiting my weight loss. I started the South Beach diet, which I've had a lot of success with in the past, but have seen little change. I'm not doing it full-on for fear of hurting my bm supply, but still! Argh. I'm trying to fit exercising in but it's hard with working full time and wanting to spend time with DD.
Anyone else feel like they might never look like they did pre pregnancy? I think my hips are wider. A lot of my pants close over that area and I don't think they're going to button even when I get the stomach flab under control. :
I'm tired of not being as toned as I'm used to being-especially hate the pooch! I work out 6 days a wk and eat healthy, I allow myself one cheat a wk. I cannot lose my last 10, but more annoying is what appears to be the two extra inches on my waist. Im not even close to getting into my prepreg pants. Glad I'm not alone with this frustration
SO glad to know i am not alone!! OK ...so it sounds like most of us are lacking the energy/time to fit in our work outs. I think we should all make each other accountable and check in once a week with some type of work out. Lets start with one hour a week check in!
How about a Tuesday check in. Every Tuesday we all check in with what exercise we did for the week of actual working out.
Could be - Walking for an hour
Gym or weights
Swimming one hour
Lets do this for 2 weeks then bump it up to 2 check ins a week....
Game?
I have to keep reminding myself that it has only been two months. I can fit into my regular jeans again but my extra fat I already had is even worse now. I already had 20lbs or so to lose. Now it just looks more obvious. I looked so skinny those first few weeks after giving birth. lol. Now, I am used to no longer being pregnant and no longer look skinny.
I'm doing the Boot Camp DVD that came in my trimester workouts by Lindsey Brin. I like it so far. I only do it about 3 times a week but it is helping. It's how I went from having to use my belly band to being able to button my jeans.
I am BF'ing as is a friend, both with her first and now with her 2nd. She lost the weight like crazy. I am not. Everyone is just different.

I'm in! It is probably just what I need to keep myself motivated and accountable.
Honestly, you may not be taking in enough calories, so your body is holding on to every last bit because it feels like it is being starved. This link recommends 2300 cal/day for a woman who is 5' 4" and wants to get back down to 120 lbs.
Diet for a Healthy Breastfeeding Mom
I think this part is very important to remember:
"Count on taking ten months to a year to return to your pre-pregnancy weight."
I always remind myself that it took 9 months to gain the weight, so I should expect at least 9 months to lose it in a healthy way.
I also read in my book that breastfeeding benefits for weightloss don't come until 3 mos and again at 9 mos. That is when your milk has the most fat in it.
Also, I just started a mommy and me yoga class this week. (Tons of fun). Anyway, the instructor was talking about the recovery of your body, specifically abs. She had a fancy name for the space between your ab muscles that comes with pregnancy (which I forgot) and said that if you can fit more than 2 fingers in the space between the muscles, it is dangerous to do crunches and situps until more recovered.. you can injure yourself more. I haven't done insanity but I'm guessing there is a lot of ab work so ladies be careful! I was at 2.5 fingers and never had that big of a bump because of my medical issues.
