Maya Wrap?

Hello, all! I'm due in August and I have a Sleepy Wrap and a Boba 3G. However, I saw a mama and baby in a Maya Wrap the other day and was more than a little tempted. Is there any reason to invest in this wrap or another sling wrap, as well? My thanks in advance!

Re: Maya Wrap?

  • I love my Maya wrap. However, my first baby hated it and therefore so did I. I also was wearing it wrong so it was uncomfortable. My second baby hated the Moby but loves the Maya Wrap so it's my go-to carrier right now.

Some things I love about the Maya Wrap that aren't true for my other carriers Moby and Ergo:

-I can get it on by myself while holding the baby

-It has a great big pocket in the tail for my keys etc so I don't have to carry a purse (the Ergo has a pocket too, but I didn't use it as much because it's right behind baby and I thought it would be uncomfortable)

-It's adjustable on the go (I can cinch baby tighter or loosen her without taking her out). I can technically do this with the Ergo too, but I find the Maya Wrap easier.

It's a good in between, too big for Moby and too little for Ergo. I imagine by 20 lbs or so I'll use the Ergo more for longer carries but still the Maya for short carries.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with it! The Sleepy Wrap seems like it will be nice for when baby is small, but also more of a pain since it's a big length of fabric. I'll probably just keep my eyes peeled for a deal so I'll be prepared for whatever baby and I will like.
