And the fake, lame excuses begin!

Although MOST of my friends are married with children, I still have a small group of friends that either have no kids (by choice) or whose kids are older so they don't need quite the attention that an infant or toddler might need. That group of friends is trying to plan a Girls Night Out which we try to have 2 or 3 times a year.  This time around they want it on a Booze Cruise.

I'm so not ready to share that I am pregnant yet so I'm trying to come up with excuses as to why we should do something other than a Booze Cruise.  LOL!  Let me just say, it's not going over well.  I tried to tell them that I can't really commit to a date given my work schedule (total lie) and that they should just go ahead and plan something without me and if I can make it, I'll go, but that's not working either.  They are writing back to me saying "NO!  We want you there!  Find out what dates you have to work and let us know and we'll plan on that date."  HAHA!

Oh well - I'll figure something out and then once I finally tell them why, they'll totally understand (I just think it's way too early to say anything just yet.)

    Haha! I brought two six packs of beer to a pool party over the holiday weekend.  I then proceeded to sneak into the bathroom to pour o'douls into my cup. I hear ya on the sneakiness and weird excuses!

    ER 4/19/12 = 11 retrieved, 6 fertilized,
    ET 4/22/12 = 2 transfered (day 3), remaining 3 weren't good enough to freeze
    Beta 5/3 = BFP, 87 Beta #2 5/7 560.9 Beta #3 5/9 1376.5 First u/s One Baby, 125bpm!
    Second u/s, 176bmp! Kicked over to the OB by the RE at 8w. Team Green!! 
    Baby girl J arrived two weeks early! Born into water, med-free. Hooray for Team Pink!

    TTC #2 - back to the RE, treatment started 12/2014.

    That's so funny.

    I am way to lazy to be that inventive-I think that is part of th reason that we told some friends as early as we did!

    Would it be possible to go and drink mocktails? I had a friend who, when she was "tipping" the bar server, slipped her a card that said, "I'm pregnant, but not telling yet. Soda water w/a lime wedge? ;)" worked like a charm.
    Me: 30, Dx Unexplained/hypothalamic amenorrhea
    DH: 31, normal!
    April/May 2011: Menopur + Ovidrel +TI = BFN
    Oct 2011: Menopur + Hcg +IUI = BFP!

    I did that a few times.  One night we were out with friends so I ordered a real cocktail, and then got up to go to the bathroom, tracked down the waiter and told him to make it a mocktail.  They still served it in a cocktail glass so no one suspected anything.  If this event isn't for a couple more weeks, maybe you'll be ready to tell when the big night arrives.

    7-Up with a lime or an orange slice...my drink of choice is vodka/7-up, so looks no different without the vodka. Just go to the bathroom when they order, and go back to order your own drink!

    I'm having trouble keeping track of all the white lies I'm telling and to whom I'm telling them to!  Hopefully everything will go well over the next few weeks and we'll all be able to come clean!

    i'm incapable of keeping (my own) secrets so my close friends knew after second beta and the rest found out at a wedding when i was about 6w

    I had a friend have to go to a bachelorette party before she was ready and I told her to sneak off to the bartender and tell him when she asks for an alcholic drink to just make a shirley temple. It worked like a charm an just when the other girls were getting stupid drunk she head home.
