paints and paper for hand prints?

What kind of paint / paper do you use for LO's hand prints?  Where did you get it?  Any tips for getting a good print?  :)

    Any paint that's water-soluble will be fine. I did it with DS just in his diaper incase he touched his clothes. One trick that might work to get LO to open up their hands is to gently rub your finger along the outside of their hand just below the pinky. You can get any kind of paper to use and you can find all of this either at a craft store (JoAnn's or Michael's) or even just Target/Wal-Mart. GL, I hope it turns out great!

    I didn't have much luck using paint. DS would close his hand with the paint on it and when I would finally get him to open it back up, most of the paint was off his hand and it didn't leave a good print. And also, paint seemed to get everywhere!! I went to Lakeshore Learning center and got washable ink pads. They cane in a lot of colors and left a perfect print. And it wiped off his hand reaaaaally easy!!!

    I haven't done handprints, they are hard.  I did do footprints with acrylic paint and small canvases from JoAnn's.

    I use tempera paint and a crayola paint pad from Target.  The paint is kind of thick so I do at least one "print" before I have the right amount of paint for what I need.  I pour some paint on a paper plate and dip LO's hands/feet in that while she's in a forward-facing baby carrier.  : )
