When I first came on TB I was surprised at the reasons and frequency of snarky comments by the vets. But, after entirely too many, "Am I too small??" posts and "I'm bleeding out of my eyeballs, normal?!?!?!", I get it. And it clearly didn't take long as I am still a newb. So, to those of you who have been on TB for long enough to give the weight-gain posts an eye-roll, what advice would you give the newbies on how to better get along on the boards?
My contribution:
- If you're writing a post about the state of your health and are clearly in a panic, you should probably go ahead and call your doctor. You will get an answer to your question probably faster than you would from the bumpies who will probably tell you to call your doctor anyway.
-Read up on TB Board Glossary before you come and play...it will save you a lot of confusion!
Anyone else?
Re: For Funsies: Advice for newbies
Ha, thanks. That reminds me of another bit of advice...check for errors before you post. Oops!
To have an entertaining board, we must talk about things other than just our pregnancy/baby. Participate in these discussions, it is what makes the board fun.
Can I blame my confusion on pregnancy brain? No? Awkward!
Anyway, not comparing pregnancies is a good one. If I had a dime for all the "Every pregnancy is different" responses...
See now, if you weren't a newbie, you'd know that damn Search function hasn't worked correctly in about 5 years.
Don't rehash hot topic issues over and over again. Just state your opinion in the appropriate thread; no need to start another one to AW your own opinion. That just keeps crap going longer.
Thank you! I was going to say the same thing. If you want to search, use Google.
I only used it once b/c I knew I had seen several posts on Fifths Disease.. I found the info I needed, so I figured it was okay to use! Ha.. Google works good then too
Love this you just made my day auroraloo!!!
Bahahaha. This is good literal advice. My legs have much better circulation since I upped my undies 2 sizes.
1st and 3rd trimesters, it's totally normal. 2nd Tri, I'd get that shiit checked.
If u tYpE lk a 13yo, or use words/phrases like "my baby daddy" or "preggers/prego", be prepared to not be taken seriously. We don't no your lyfe, and nor do we care. You will be made fun of, or at best, ignored.
Dirty deletes are dirty for a reason.
Accept that people are going to judge you for seemingly minor things. If you feel comfortable in your decision, Post a rational response. Bonus points are not awarded for TYPING in all caps or saying "your all a bunch of bullies!!!1!" to make your point.
