How Far Are You on the Nursery?

Hey all!

I'm just wondering how far you are on your nursery.

My mum and sister and friend are coming over next friday to help me take down a border and paint the nursery, and put together all the furniture. We just moved into our house and nothing has happened in there yet, nothing is set up and we barely have anything.

How are you all doing?

Re: How Far Are You on the Nursery?

  • We got the furniture put up, made the mobile, and my Mom finished making our bed skirt and curtain last weekend.  I still have some pics to put on the wall and then I need to dig out all the baby gear.  I feel so much better since my OB told me to be ready early since I went 4 weeks early with my son (not that baby needs a nursery when they are born but it helps to be organized)!

  • Our nursery is all painted and vaccuumed with all of baby's furniture in place. All we really have left to do is clear out all of the extra stuff that won't be staying in the nursery (the swing, stroller/car seat, etc.) We had our baby shower last weekend and put all of our new stuff in her room and still have to weed through what will stay in her room and what will go elsewhere in the house.

  • DH just put together the crib last night. that is all we have done. but baby is staying in our room, so it's not like we have an entire room to furnish & paint.

still, you have a little ways to go, so try not to stress! :)

  • Nursery? What nursery? The "nursery" is still a guest room... with a closet full of crap. Going to pick out some paint samples this weekend - I'm really hoping that will light the fire under my ass.

  • 95% done.  I really don't have a lot going on except for work and then coming home to wrap up the nursery.  My goal is to be done by this weekend.  I know baby girl won't be sleeping in her nursery for some time, but we will still be using it as our area to sit, feed, read, hang out, tummy time, etc. I want her to get familiar with it and love it as her own little space.  Smile

  • DH painted the room and trim about 2 weeks ago, thats as far as we got, he wants to somewhat redo the closet but is undecided, and we have yet to get the furniture in yet.

  • We have had the room painted and the furniture put together for over a month now...I'm just waiting until after our shower, which is on the 24th, to decorate because a lot of that stuff is on our registry.

  • Depends on how you look at it (there's a link to my blog in my siggy that has pics put up today). The crib in there wont be used and I still need to put up stuff, but his clothes are out and stuff is organized. He wont be using that room until he's about 9 months so I just wanted all the little stuff out that we'd be using.

  • We are almost done, I am teaching 2 courses this summer and taking two courses so I am busy with all that.  We are still waiting on the crib from my SIL so I really hope it works out.

  • About 1% of the way there.  We live in a condo in the city with limited storage/closet space so we have been doing a lot of reorganizing.  Right now the nursery looks like we could be on an episode of Hoarders.  I am hoping this baby does not come a minute early :)

  • The furniture is put together, clothes are in the closet and dresser, some of the decor is put up, and the only things that still need to be finished is finish sewing the bedding and curtains and finish the DIY projects, my goal is to be done by 38ish weeks but I would LOVE to be done sooner!!

  • It's painted.  That's it. lol

We'll order her furniture in July and decorate then too.  I have bought things for it though, so that will at least be here.

I'm not too worried this time around (we were done with DS's around 24 weeks I think?) lol.  Sure, it's nice to have a room completed - but she'll be in our room the first couple months.

  • We are 90% done.  Everything that I can do for now, is done.  Once I have my last shower and then we purchase any items we don't get at the shower, then we'll be able to finish it.

Here is the side that is finished completely:

(I swear the picture is straight, it just appears slanted - you can see I even forgot to take the level down before snapping this photo)

  • We're slowly but surely decorating. I still need bedding (MIL is making it), a chair cushion for the rocking chair, and some decor items. Not to mention I need to organize all of that stuff.

  • Our nursery still has to be built along with the rest of our new modular home.  Hoping to get the final ok from the bank and order next week.  Its gonna be close!!!

  • Just completed Wednesday.  My niece painted a mural on the walls and she completed it then.  We started working on it around the end of March and just slowly pieced it together.

  • The room is painted (we had already painted it when we first moved in), carpets have been cleaned, we have the crib and dress/changer set up.  I've gone through the clothes we have so far and sorted and washed them.  Cleaned out the closet.  We're ordering bedding and a crib mattress soon.  Have a bassinet where she'll be sleeping in our room for a while.

I still need to put the bookshelf in her room (it's in the garage), hang a few things on the wall, get a window treatment, and put up the decal over the crib (should be here next week).  Oh and then of course put away everything I get at my shower in July.

  • My parents just brought the crib over yesterday and they set it up with DH. All the furniture is in place, clothes are washed, and cloth diapers are pretty much all prepped (planning on rewashing them with a new soap). Baby's room is pretty much all set.
  • Here are the things we've done:

    • All the furniture and decor is purchased and in our garage
    • The room is painted
    • The wainscoting is installed and primed
    • The furniture is painted with color matching paint to match her crib
    • New fan installed

Things that still need to be done:

    • Paint the wainscoting and ceiling (DH is doing tomorrow)
    • Decide on what rug we want to use (we have cherry wood floors)
    • Room layout: set up the furniture and decide where to hang all the decor
    • Clean out her closet and organize her stuff in it.
    • Have a baby to put in the nursery Big Smile

We are building our house and won't even have a nursery until after the baby is here.  So I'm sure you can imagine how much I've done on it :)

  • Ummm, nothing >.>

We just moved into this house about a month ago, so the most that is done is the crap that got shoved in there is now removed. We are planning on painting this weekend, and when that is done I'll feel like I can get some furniture and begin to decorate.

We're getting a crib from SIL/BIL, but not until we see them again won't be until June 30th :o Starting to get kind of anxious about that...

  • The room is all painted, but none of the furniture is in the room or set up yet. I guess we should get on that...

  • We just started painting last night! So excited. I've been pinning like mad and have had paint samples up on the wall for over a month. Glad we finally pulled the trigger and got started.

We have our changing table/pad, bassinet (for our room), and a lamp. Everything else is on back-order! The crib, rug, and rocker should be here mid-July which is cutting it a wee bit close for me :) We also have a bookcase and dresser which need to be painted white, that's DH's job for the next few weekends.

  • My boys are going to be sharing a room, so we're not doing any super-decorating. We have the crib and dresser put together and set up, and all of baby's clothes have been washed and put in the dresser (although I'm going to wash them again because they still smell like mothballs :/). We don't have anything else (crib bedding, baby monitor, etc) yet.

  • Baseboards are painted, furniture is assembled, rug is down, bought a lamp, clothes are washed and hung or put away (for the most part).

    Still need to:

    replace windows and paint trim

replace closet doors and paint trim

take down decorative shelves and replace with functional shelves

    Buy/hang art

    assemble rocking chair

  • We have the nursery painted, most of the crap that was in there and shouldn't be moved out, and we just put the crib in there yesterday. Need to work on cleaning the floors post-paint, as well as hang pictures, shelving, move the glider in, and arrange the furniture. Haven't even started washing his clothes hanging them up yet, as the nursery closet is an entirely different situation. It has always been our T-shirt closet, and DH and I have got to get those shirts out of there before we can begin hanging things.

Crib & dresser are put up....the room was already painted in a light yellow from when we first moved in...I have some pj's washed and hung in the closet (so cute!!) and then we have our stroller & car seat taken out of the box and all the stuff from our first shower scattered around. My other shower is on the 23rd so after that one, I plan to organize everything more and get it ready-ready :)

  • We had our nursery painted, decorated and furniture set up since I was about 22-23 weeks.

We still have a lot do though becasue nothing we have bought, or any of our shower gifts have been organized, washed or putwawy.  So our plan is to start on that this weekend.

  • We are pretty close to done, but mostly because the kids will be sharing a room once DS is a few months old and moves out of our room. It was time for DD to have a toddler bed, so we had to get everything rearranged to get it to fit. I think all that is left is pretty much to reorganize some drawers so there will be room for DS' clothes.

  • We purchased the dresser and crib. That's it. Baby will sleep in our room the first 6 months anyway. I have hinted at DH to put the furniture together during my baby shower. Think it would be good for him and his dad to do together, and keep them occupied. We aren't in any big rush. Not sure what's wrong with me that I feel like that's ok if it is not done. I'm a FTM.

    How are you all doing?

My brother is actually currently staying in the room that will become mine, and LO's. My parents enjoy procrastinating, and we really should at least have everything taken out of his room and put in the spare room, or somewhere else. but we don't, So all the baby's stuff is in totes and boxes in my room. :|

haven't started.  Hope to at least pick a wall color and crib this weekend :)

  • All of our furniture is in place.  Still have some stuff to get on the walls, I'm making the mobile next weekend, have to put up curtains...etc, etc.  We don't plan on the baby sleeping in that room when he's first born anyways, and I know that I am just finishing for my own satisfaction, so I'm not in a huge rush.
