Labor imminent?

Hey girls!  I'm passed 40 weeks and my doctor stripped my membranes last night and basically promised it will cause labor.  I'm 5cm and fully effaced so he said it's almost a sure thing.  I had tons of cramping last night and a few contractions.  I woke up still very uncomfortable and when I went to the bathroom I saw my mucus plug (how I still have one at 5cm is beyond me, sorry if TMI) and a lot of bloody mucus.  No contractions all day today though, just a painful feeling down low like an aching.  

 I'm hoping all of this isn't for nothing and I'll have to be induced anyway : /

 Any similar experiences?  FWIW I was induced with my son so I never had any symptoms of impending labor.

    Well it certainly sounds like you're favorable! 

    With DS I had my membranes stripped, and my MW stretched me from 2 - 4 cms. I had cramping and some bloody show all day, and woke up the next morning with contractions. DS was born 30 hours later. Are you able to go for a long walk today to try and pick things up?
