I was fine at home- I told my OB this, but with so many painful contractions he wanted me to get checked. Turns out the contractions arent as strong as I thought, I just have a major case of back labor. I did get to hear ear-shattering screaming from down the hall. That was comforting. My nurse was super rough and kind of unfriendly, til her second check made me burst into tears because it hurt like a mother and I was so done with L&D. She amazingly understood my frustration without me saying a word and told me that I wasnt suffering for nothing. I had gone from a 2+ to a 2.5 in just an hour which is great for early labor.
About every 6-10 minutes I get a ridiculously strong pressure in my back that I can do nothing about. Ive had it for a day and half without it taking off into something more. So I get to be in all the pain with no results. Im stuck in limbo.
Its so draining. I wasnt ready for emotionally draining this process is. I know its a marathon not a sprint, but I was thinking physically. My mind is so tired and I cannot believe how much Ive cried just out of frustration during the last day and a half. The only thing I want to do is go snuggle with husband in a dark room and wait for my induction tomorrow.
Re: This sucks. (Update to early labor)
Get on your hands and knees. See if you can flip the baby, that's causing the pain. If you don't progress they will send you home. This part is frustrating but worth it. Labor takes time. Even if you can't go home then turn the lights down and let the nurses know not to bother you and relax with your husband.
Hang in there mama! Try to relax.
This! Checkout the Miles Circuit or even spinning babies to see if you can get LO into a better position. In early labor my doula had me do a move where my hands were lower than my knees (on all fours) to get baby to pop up a bit and straighten out so she could decend better. If nothing else it's a position that gets the pressure off for a bit.
Aww, Red, I am so sorry this is happening to you! I hope that you find some relief ASAP. Sending you comfort and good mental vibes to make it through!
Also, GOOD LUCK tomorrow!
Thanks for the encouragement and letting me whine a little!
added : definitely checking out spinning babies
