i'm impatient. job interviews..

I've been looking to leave the hospital ultrasound world and find a job in a doctor's office or outpatient imaging center. I've had two interviews the past month and the last one seemed very promising. It was at an ob/gyn dr office and I had the first interview last wednesday and then thursday they called and said they wanted me to come back in on monday to scan & meet some drs. So Monday I went in and thought it went very well. The way she was talking I felt like I had the job "in the bag". She said she was going to talk to the drs and contact my references and would let me know by Thursday (today) their decision. Well none of my references were ever contacted and here it is the end of Thursday and I never heard a response! I'm really bummed and confused. I guess some places don't call references (even though she said she was going to?) but then you would think they would call me or email to let me know if I didn't get it too. 

I hate the waiting game. I'm impatient and just want to cry. ahh. My husband gets reminding me that if I didn't get this one, it's only because there is a better one out there for me. I hope he's right..

    Ooh I hate that too!  I think I have found in the past that you have to contact them to let them know YOU are still interested.  Shoot them an email letting them know that you really think the job is the perfect fit for you and you are looking forward to hearing from them soon.  Or something like that.  Fingers crossed!!!

    I would contact them, like pp said, to let them know you're interested. The more interest you show in them, the more interest they will show in you.
    I have always followed up on interviews and thanked them again for meeting with me, and said that I am very interested in the position and would be happy to answer anymore questions they may have for me.

    I agree with the advice of the pps. Good luck. I hope you get it! Maybe they just got busy yesterday and you'll hear today.
