Did you stop all caffeine in your diet? I stopped all caffeine as of Monday, but I really want a k-up iced-tea.... Does anyone know how much caffeine is ok? or is none in the first trimester?

I stopped all caffeine with my first (successful) pregnancy, I didn't with my next (1st loss), so now I am playing it safe and not having any - or just rarely, like less than a half cup of coffee once a week if decaf isn't available.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure... lots of people still drink it in moderation and have healthy pregnancies. Being the paranoid after a loss mom that I am, none for me thanks.
Married the love of my life 7/11/09 - Our first baby, Peyton Mark, was born sleeping 10/25/11 at 33 weeks - Our second baby, BFP 2/4/12, welcome to the world Raylan! Holy Moly, BPF 2/4/14, please be safe and sound little one!
I've stopped most of it. I'll occasionally take a sip or a few steps. I splurged one day and got a small green tea frappucino from starbucks. I will say that we bought some decaf tea so I can still partake in my southern sweet tea sans caffeine. There are a lot of people who say a cup of coffee a day is ok. Then there are others who say the opposite.
I was really stressed a day last week and I snuck a dr. pepper...I know that's almost the worst...but it was only half a can and it tasted soooo good! I've had none since then, just my flavored water and some V8 Fusion Lite juice, oh and lots of milk...I'm obsessed with milk!

I switched to decaf coffee after I got my BFP and drank that until I couldn't stomach it any longer. When I eventually got my taste for coffee back (in the 2nd tri sometime), I started drinking half-caf. I did drink Coke about once a week during the first tri. I am a "caffeine in moderation" girl.
I think moderation is key to everything. It's not like I to drink 64oz. of coffee, but I think just 8 or 12 would be ok...and not everyday. I've been drinking de-cafe, but I really want a k-up sweet tea they are sooo good!! I may wait a week or two, and then have one as a treat. Thanks Ladies!!

This is exactly how I feel, I'm sure a little is fine but I'm paranoid. It also helps that I was mostly a water drinker before anyway so it's easy to go without.
My doctor told me one cup a day was ok but due to my pgal brain, I haven't had caffeine this time since my Bfp.
This exactly!
IVF #1 BFP b/g twins!; loss at 23 weeks due to I.C. and PTL.
IVF #2 BFP 5/26/12; due date 2/6/13; TAC surgery 7/20/12, blessed with another girl & boy!
I heard one cup a day is fine, but I'm mostly going the decaf route. Occasionally I will have some regular tea, but most of the small amount of caffeine I get is from chocolate.

Some studies show a link between consumption of caffeine in high doses and miscarriage, while other studies show no correlation. But many medical professionals believe anything under 200-300mg. a day is ok. Your average cup of drip (8oz) has between 100-200mg. depending on the roast and how it was brewed. A cappuccino or latte (single) actually has less caffeine -- around 75mg. And a soda or tea ranges between 30 and 50 mg. I have had a cup a day most days except for the first few weeks of the first trimester when I was too sick for much of anything. Some days (now that I'm into my second trimester) I even have a second cup of coffee. But a morning cup of coffee is one of my favorite things in the world, so this was a compromise I was comfortable with.
I find it interesting that not in 1 dr appt, including an appt w MFM, since my 3rd loss did 1 dr ask me about my caffeine intake. I've been considering cutting it out completely in anticipation of my next BFP, but I'm not thinking its as big of a deal as once thought. Just an observation

Apparently the equivalent of 2 small cups of coffee per day is a safe amount. You must remember, of course, that chocolate and cola have caffeine in them too. I drank way more than I should have with my first 2 pregnancies - the first one was fine and the 2nd pregnancy was my loss. This time around I've stuck to 1 cup of coffee in the morning and the occasional piece of chocolate as a treat and all is fine.
My dr. Said one caffeine drink per day is fine. I usually drink a cup of half caf each morning and will splurge on a small coke maybe once every other week.

I didn't stop 100% percent but don't have it on a daily basis. I might have one soda a week and I drink full strength coffee on the weekend. I only ever have one cup/serving on the days I drink it.

I believe the March of Dimes website says no more than 200 mg per day, but I may be wrong. My doctor said no more than one cup of coffee per day, but I am a soda drinker, not a coffee drinker. In my first trimester I allowed myself like 1 soda per week, now that I am in the 2nd trimester I may drink 2 per week, but I never finish a 12 oz. can.

I am definitely part of the minority here. I don't drink coffee. I may be flamed a little for this, but since my doctor doesn't mind ( I have talked directly about this) I have a couple cans of diet coke a day. I tried to cut out caffeine in first tri, but because I have such a high dependency on it I started getting migraines, and with my history of seizures linked to my migraines in my teen years the doctor told me the caffeine I get from a couple cans of diet coke a day was OK by him. (I tried to do regular coke b/c I heard bad things about diet b/c of aspartame, but it is WAYYY to sugary for me and my hypoglycemia.)

All of this! (And the information I've read usually states that "high doses" means more than 500mg on a daily basis.)
I don't like coffee, but I have a fully leaded coke, dp, or tea 2-3 times a week. Sometimes that coke is even a large, if we're at the movies or a sporting event!
Mama to 5 angel babies, 1 rainbow baby, and 2 more angel babies.
I went completely without caffeine in the first trimester. Now that I'm in the 2nd trimester I get headaches pretty regularly so I have a little now and again. I limit my self to one soda or one glass of iced tea a day, and try to make sure I get plenty of other fluids like juice and water on top of it.
